The work center specifies where an operation is executed -- it acts as the header information to which you add a work center resource. After you have created the work center, you can add work center resources to it to track the costs.
For example, you can define a machine or a production line and include a setup rate, labor rate, and overhead cost. After creating a work center with resources, you can add it to a routing on an item specification.
| Company | Facility | Work Center | Department | Overhead Cost % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C1 | F1 | W1 | D1 | 20 |
| C1 | F1 | W2 | D1 | 25 |
| C1 | F2 | W3 | D1 | 20 |
| C1 | F2 | W4 | D2 | 15 |
The facility must belong to the selected company.
You can assign a resource to a work center by creating a Work Center Resource.
