Shipment Workbench

Use the Shipment Workbench to allocate items, plan the picking of those items, and pick items for shipment.

You can mass allocate, mass plan pick, and mass pick for many shipments all at the same time, to save time.

 

Shipment Lines for Allocate, Plan Pick and Pick Field Descriptions
Field Description
Item The item you're working with on this line.
Quantity Allocated The quantity of this item that's been allocated to this shipment line.
Quantity Picked The quantity of this item that's been picked.
Quantity Plan Picked The quantity of this item that's been planned for picking.
Quantity Released

The quantity of this item that's planned for shipment.

Kenandy puts the value of the Quantity Ordered from the sales order line attached to this shipment into the Quantity Planned field automatically.

Quantity Shipped The quantity of this item that's been confirmed as shipped.
Shipment

The shipment number associated with this line.

Shipment Line The shipment line number associated with this line.
UOM

For Action = Allocate, UOM = Selling UOM.

For Action = Plan Pick, UOM = Stocking UOM.

For Action = Pick, UOM = Stocking UOM.

 

Allocate Expanded Shipment Lines Field Descriptions
Field Description
Consigned Owner The consigned owner of this item.
Facility The facility this item is stocked in and shipped from.
Quantity Allocated (UOM) The quantity of this item that's already been allocated to this shipment line.
Quantity Available (UOM)

The quantity of this item that's available in your inventory for allocation.

The Quantity Available is shown in the stocking UOM for this item.

Quantity to Allocate (UOM)

Enter the quantity of items you want to allocate to this shipment line.

Kenandy enters the Quantity Released into this field if this quantity of this item is available in your inventory.



If you need to unallocate a quantity of items from a shipment line, enter a minus sign and the number of items you want to subtract from the allocation.

For example, if the Quantity Allocated = 10 items and you want to decrease the allocation to 7 items, enter -3 in this field.

 

Plan Pick Expanded Shipment Lines Field Descriptions
Field Description
Bin

Bins where this item is stocked.

If this item is stocked in more than one bin, you'll see separate lines for each bin.

Consigned Owner The consigned owner of this item.
Container Item

The container item that holds the items in this bin.

For example, if this bin holds pallets of items, the Container Item can be Wood Pallets.

Location The location where this item is stocked.
Packaging UOMs (UOM conversion)

The packaging UOM fields depend on your company's setup.

Each packaging UOM includes a conversion to this item's stocking UOM. For example, a cases packaging UOM = CS (12 EA). The stocking UOM of this item is EA (eaches) and a case contains 12 eaches.

Enter an amount into the packaging UOM field you want to plan pick for.

If you need to unplan a quantity of items from a shipment line, enter a minus sign and the number of items you want to subtract from the planned pick.

For example, if the Quantity to Plan = 10 items and you want to decrease the planned pick to 7 items, enter -3 in this field.

Quantity Available (UOM)

The quantity of this item that's available in your inventory for plan picking, that is, the quantity that's already been allocated.

The Quantity Available is always shown in the stocking UOM for this item.

Quantity Plan Picked (UOM)

The quantity of this item that's planned for shipment.

Kenandy puts the value of the Quantity Ordered from the sales order line attached to this shipment into the Quantity Planned field automatically.

Quantity to Plan (UOM)

The quantity you plan to pick from the bin on this line.

You can't enter an amount into this field.

Kenandy automatically enters the amount of items you entered into the packaging UOM field. This field uses the stocking UOM not the packaging UOM.

Field Description
Stock Location

A location where this item is stocked and available for you to pick from.

Stock Bin The bin you must pick this item from.
Consigned Owner The consigned owner of this item.
Container Item The container item inside which this item is stock.
License Plate Number

The license plate number (LPN) tied to this item.

The License Plate Number only has a value if this item is stocked in your highest level packaging class, for example a pallet.

Packaging UOMs (UOM conversion)

The packaging UOM fields depend on your company's setup.

Each packaging UOM includes a conversion to this item's stocking UOM. For example, a cases packaging UOM = CS (12 EA). The stocking UOM of this item is EA (eaches) and a case contains 12 eaches.

Shipping Bin

The bin where the picker will drop off this item.

The Shipping Bin must be in your shipping dock location.

 

Assign Picker Search Area Field Descriptions
Field Description
Facility

Required.

The facility where you're assigning pickers.

Kenandy displays the default facility for the user who's assigning pickers. To change your default facility:

  1. Click the Getting Around tab.
  2. Click Manage Defaults.
  3. Click Edits.
  4. In the Planning/Production area, change your Default Facility.
  5. Click Save.
Location

Required.

The location within the facility where the picker will be working.

Note: Kenandy filters pick assignments by location. If items on a shipment line are stocked in more than one location in your facility, more than one picker can be assigned to pick a single shipment line.

Sales Order Enter a sales order number to assign a picker only to that specific sales order.
Transfer Order Enter a transfer order number to assign a picker only to that specific transfer order.
Customer Enter a customer if you want to assign a picker only to shipments for that customer.
Default Picker Enter a default picker if you plan to assign many shipments to the same picker all at once.

Field Description
Shipment

A shipment number you're assigning a picker to.

You can't change the shipment number here.

Sales Order

A sales order number you're assigning a picker to.

You can't change the sales order number here.

Transfer Order

A transfer order you're assigning a picker to.

You can't change the transfer order number here.

Parcel

If Parcel is selected, this item will be shipped via parcel post (UPS, FedEx, or similar).

If Parcel is cleared, this item will be shipped on a truck.

Picker

Enter the picker you want to pick this shipment. All shipment lines at the location you're assigning for will be assigned to this picker when you click Save.

The picker will see assigned shipment lines on Kenandy Mobile.
