SKIDs

A SKID is a virtual box of data that shows you information about an inventory item in Kenandy as it is right now.

SKIDs are not the same as inventory changes or inventory transactions. Kenandy generates inventory changes and inventory transactions when you move inventory. SKIDs show inventory as it exists in one place at one moment in time.

Note: Not all SKIDs carry information in every field. How much information a SKID carries depends on the type of SKID it is and how much information about the item is available in Kenandy.

To find a SKID, follow these steps: 

  1. Click All Tabs (plus sign), then click SKIDs.
  2. To see all the SKIDs in Kenandy, choose View: All and click Go.
  3. To make it easier to find the SKID you're looking for, click the name of any column in the table.
    For example, to see SKIDs by type in alphabetical order, click Type.
  4. Click the SKID number of the SKID you want to examine in detail.

You can't edit any of the information on a SKID.

If you find a problem you need to fix, track it to the source action or transaction to make changes.

ClosedSKID Field Descriptions

The following table lists the fields that Kenandy provides. Your system administrator selects the fields that are displayed on your user interface.

SKID Detail Field Descriptions
Field Description

Company

 The company this SKID is tied to.
Facility

The facility where the item in this SKID are located.

This field is blank in Install Base SKIDs.

Item The item tracked in this SKID.
Location

The location where the item in this SKID are located.

This field is blank in Install Base SKIDs.

Mixed Palletized Selected if the items in this SKID are part of a mixed pallet—that is, a pallet that includes different items for shipping.
Packaging UOM

The UOM that Kenandy uses to track this item in your warehouse.

For example, if this is a Location SKID that's tracking items packed into cases for storage, the Packaging UOM = CS (cases).

Quantity (Packaging UOM) The quantity of this item that is tracked in this SKID, measured in packaging UOM.
Quantity (Stocking UOM) The quantity of this item tracked in this SKID, measured in stocking UOM.
SKID

The SKID name that Kenandy automatically generates when it creates this SKID.

You cannot change SKID names.

Stocking UOM

The UOM Kenandy uses to cost this item.

For example, if this is a Location SKID that's tracking items packed into cases for storage but costed in eaches, the Stocking UOM = EA (eaches).

Field Description
Bin

The bin where this item is stored.

This field is blank if this item is stored in a location that is not bin-tracked.

Consigned Owner

The consigned owner of the item tracked by this SKID.

This field is blank unless this SKID tracks a consigned item.

Container Item The container item that's used to hold/pack the item tracked by this SKID.
Customer

The customer tied to the item tracked by this SKID.

This field has a value only on Install Base SKIDs.

Date Received The date on which you received this item.
Expiration Date

The expiration date of the item tracked by this SKID.

This field is blank if the item does not have an expiration date.

License Plate Number

The license plate number of the item tracked by this SKID.

This field is blank unless the item tracked by this SKID has PT (pallet) as its packaging UOM.

Lot

The lot number of the item tracked by this SKID.

This field is blank if the item is not lot-tracked.

A SKID can only track items from one lot. If you have many of the same item from different lots, Kenandy creates a unique SKID to track each lot.

Rental Checked only if the item tracked by this SKID is a rental item.
Used Checked only if the item tracked by this SKID is a used item.

ASN Line

The ASN line tied to this SKID.

Click the ASN number to open this ASN.

This field can be used in SKIDs of the following types:

  • In-Transit
Count Quantity This field is always blank. (It's used by the system but no value appears in the field.) 
Material Tracking

The material tracking record tied to this SKID.

Click the material tracking number to open this material tracking record.

This field can be used in SKIDs of the following types:

  • Allocated
  • WIP
Order Line

The transfer order line tied to this SKID.

  • TO Supply
  • TO Demand
    • Allocated
    • Planned Pick
    • Location (when item is at the shipping dock location)
Purchase Order Line

The purchase order line tied to this SKID.

This field can be used in SKIDs of the following types:

  • PO Supply
  • Location (only when Consigned Owner field is populated)
Receipt Line

The receipt line tied to this SKID.

  • Location (when the item has been received via RMA or when you chose Inspection as the putaway type when you received the item)

 
Sales Order Line

The sales order line tied to this SKID.

Type

The type of SKID this is.

  • WIP
Work Order

The work order tied to this SKID.

Click the work order number to open this work order.

This field can be used in SKIDs of the following types:

  • WO Supply
  • WIP (for the assembly item, but not for material tracking records)

 

MRP Information Field Descriptions
Field Description
Item Active

Yes: This item is active and will be part of MRP runs.

No: This item is inactive and will not be part of MRP runs.

This value comes from the item record.

Item Lead Time
Item Source

The source of the item that's tracked by this SKID.

The value in this field comes from the Source field on the item record.

Order Date
Serials

This section lists all the serial numbers of the item tracked by this SKID.

If the item tracked by this SKID isn't serial-tracked, this section is empty.

Allocated Serials

This section lists all the serial numbers of the item tracked by this SKID that have been allocated to an order.

If the item tracked by this SKID isn't serial-tracked or has not been allocated, this section is empty.
