Dashboards
A dashboard shows data in source reports as visual components, such as charts, gauges, tables, and metrics. Your system administrator must enable the Salesforce Dashboard section on your Home page if you want to view the dashboard on your Home page. You can customize your dashboard to show the information that you want to view in it, such as the data in your custom reports.
Review Data in the Dashboard
- From the Home page, locate the Dashboard section.
- Click Refresh so that you can see the latest report data in the dashboard.
- To view a source report, click the visual component for it in the dashboard.
Customize Your Dashboard
- From the Reports & Dashboards page, click New Dashboard.
A dashboard template is displayed showing locations for three dashboard items.
TIP: If you want to learn more about dashboards, click Guided Tour or Video Tutorial.
- Complete the following steps to set up a data source and visual component for each dashboard item that you want to create:
- Click the Data Sources tab, navigate to a source report, select the report, and then drag and drop it onto a dashboard item location in the template.
- Click the Components tab, select a format (for example, the horizontal bar chart, pie chart, or gauge), and then drag and drop it onto the data source in the template.
The source report data is eventually displayed in the dashboard item.

- Click the Component Data tab, and designate the appropriate options in the view.
- Click OK.
