Use the Categories page to set up fulfillment and billing categories to classify your products.
You can specify different types of fulfillments based on the product, so that you can create a shipment for a tangible product, a service work order for a service task, a software license provision, and so on. This enables you to identify how to fulfill a sales order line individually. You can also use fulfillment categories to facilitate integrations with 3rd party applications.
Billing categories enable you to set up invoice grouping rules by category or for a specific category. For example, you can group all hardware products on one invoice and group all software products on another invoice.
Serial categories allow you to filter and group products and services that are available for rent.
Quality categories enable you to differentiate between products and batches of products based on quality. For example, you can create a group that is discounted due to poor quality or apply a mark-up for custom materials.
When you have created your categories, you select the billing, fulfillment, serial, or quality categories for each product on its Product Details page. Then, when the product is included on a sales order, these categories are visible on agreement lines, and on sales order lines.
