Expeditions travel throughout the Northeast.This summer Kroka Expeditions is offering extended wilderness trips for teens through New England and Canada. There are three spots for our Roving Stewardship Crew, two spots for our Allagash Wilderness Waterway User Impact Surveyor Crew, and two spots for our Youth Program’s Northern Forest Explorers. White water paddle the Moisie River in Canada for a month, gain leadership skills while island hopping along the Maine coast for three weeks, rock climb the High Peaks of the Adirondacks for two weeks, or be a Keeper of the Flame for a week. There is also a State of Maine Guide Lisence fee upon completion of the written test for $89.Employment opportunities with North Country Rivers upon completion of the course, passing the written exam and purchasing a Registered Maine Whitewater Guide License.

NEOC conducts training in late May that prepare candidates for the Maine Whitewater Guide test - giving you the Level 1 license which will allow you to raft on the Lower Penobscot, Kennebec River and Dead River. There are 40 adventures to choose from for ages 12-18, ranging from 5-20 days from the end of June - August. Not all positions are paid, but all provide amazing educational experiences in the outdoor sector in Maine's beautiful national park.
One, two and three week programs exploring Maine's coastal waters and inland mountains, providing perfect settings to learn skills in cooperation, ecology, communication and living lightly on the land.
