SECOND ROW CENTER - FOUR DOOR

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any seat belt or child restraint anchor service, carefully inspect all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps, and anchors for proper installation, operation, or damage. Replace any belt that is cut, frayed, or torn. Straighten any belt that is twisted. Tighten any loose fasteners. Replace any belt that has a damaged or ineffective buckle or retractor. Replace any belt that has a bent or damaged latch plate or anchor plate. Replace any child restraint anchor or the unit to which the anchor is integral that has been bent or damaged. Never attempt to repair a seat belt or child restraint component. Always replace damaged or ineffective seat belt and child restraint components with the correct, new and unused replacement parts listed in the DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog.

NOTE: All seat belt retractors except the driver side front retractor include a switchable automatic locking mechanism. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS/SEAT BELT AND RETRACTOR/AUTOMATIC LOCKING RETRACTOR - DESCRIPTION).





NOTE: The anchor plates for the right second row seat belt buckle (7) and the second row center seat belt anchor (6) are secured to each other by a soft metal grommet as an assembly aid during the manufacturing process and, once removed, the grommet does not require reinstallation.


1. Position the second row center seat belt and retractor unit (5) onto the 60 percent seat back panel (2). Be certain to engage the tab on the retractor frame into the hole in the back panel.
2. Install and tighten the screw (1) that secures the retractor to the seat back panel. Tighten the screw to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
3. Engage the retractor locking cable end (8) and cable housing with the right outboard seat back latch mechanism.
4. Reinstall the foam, trim cover (3) and bezel (4) onto the seat back panel. Be certain the seat belt webbing between the retractor and the bezel is not twisted.

5. Reinstall the second row seat into the vehicle as a unit. (Refer to 23 - BODY/SEATS/SEAT - REAR - INSTALLATION).
6. Reinstall the right second row seat belt buckle (7) and center seat belt lower anchor unit (6) onto the rear floor panel. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS/SEAT BELT BUCKLE - SECOND ROW RIGHT - FOUR DOOR - INSTALLATION).
