Eating out
Bufet Centralny
at Zurawia 32/34 is
Warsaw’s latest answer to tapas, with
a Polish spin on it. It’s modern, chic,
and local – and best of all, served
late into the night (as late as 5am
on weekends). bufetcentralny.pl/ If
you’d rather switch the time machine
to retro mode, no-frills
Biedronka
at Grojecka 79 feels, and tastes,
untouched from the Communist era.
The prices are about the same, too.
City suggestion
Telling the fascinating and ultimately
tragic tale of the 1944 Warsaw
Uprising, the
Warsaw Rising
Museum
(pictured above). 1944.pl
And finally...
Conquer one of the strangest-looking
Polish dishes – a bowl of bright pink
cold borscht soup (chlodnik). This
refreshing combination of beets,
yogurt and dill is simply scrumptious.
