Getting to the centre
In Katowice we provide two point-to-
point transfers, one between airport
and Katowice city centre, the other
between airport and Krakow centre. It

Wizz Air flights arrive at Kiev’s
recently revamped downtown airport
Zhuliani. Mini-buses and trolley
buses for the city centre depart from
outside the airport regularly. A taxi to
most city centre destinations will cost
around 120 hryvnia (€10).

The Ukrainian capital city is famed
for its Indian summers – known in the
local vernacular as ‘Grandmother’s
summer’ – and September is in many
ways the most civilised time to visit.

baguettes and pastries.
City suggestions
Thanks to Steven Spielberg’s film, the
whole world knows about Schindler
and his famous list. Krakow recently
transformed
Schindler’s Factory
on ul. Lipowa 4 into an impressive
museum, with an exhibition devoted
to the story of Schindler and the Nazi
occupation in Krakow. Entry is 17

And finally...
The majority of museums in Krakow
and Katowice offer free entry once a
week. The Schindler Factory is free on
Mondays if you arrive early enough.

is favoured by young blades for its
superior views of the pedestrian
traffic.
Golden Gate Irish Pub

hilltops of Old Kiev (15 Zolotovoritska
Street) and has a mix of expats and
English-speaking locals. Make a
reservation if you require a table.
And finally...
National Independence Day
is
on 24 August. The parade on Kiev’s
central street Khreschatyk is at 10am.
