BELGRADE DESIGN DISTRICT
ALMOST HIDDEN AMONG DOWNTOWN’S
dingy buildings that once housed the city’s first
shopping centre, the Belgrade Design District’s
storefronts now shine with contemporary design works
from a new creative crop of artists. Cheekily theatrical
clothing, futuristic jewellery and refined interior
design objects all find their place among the 30-odd
boutiques forming the split-level design hub.
Together these brands aren’t merely a platform for
locally grown creativity; they are paving the way for
a new era in Serbian design.

ATIPPI
Loud and proud is the mantra of Atippi, an
electrifying alliance between five local fashion
designers and their brands. This eclectic group
includes the print-heavy designs by Tamara Marjanovic
(Tamarita), the intricately detailed handbags and
necklaces by Marija Banjac (Maslikarija), Hristina
Petrovic’s eccentric female outfits, and a riot of
colourful knitwear by Teodora Drakulovic (Shtrikancija).
REMAKE
“Reviving beautiful, forgotten and unloved
objects; twisting and mixing old and new, paving the
way to someone who will love these objects again”
– that’s the aim of the design collective run by
Jovana Božovic and Antea Arizanovic. Expect to find
an elegant clash of the traditional and provocative,
whether it’s delicate vintage plates spiced up with
surreal graphics, jazzed-up deer heads, or pillows and
aprons containing naughty messages.

ANA LJUBINKOVIC
Taking a tumble down the rabbit hole, the
whimsical and kooky sartorial delights dreamt up
by Ljubinkovic would seduce the socks off the Mad
Hatter. Her latest collection features beaded shoulder
pads, vertical circus strips and deer-antler pumps in
candy colours that are surely some of the perkiest
fabrications in town.
