BBC
A favourite with the
expats, BBC, or Big
Buddha Café, offers
delicious international
and Thai dining in a
friendly atmosphere.
However, it's also a
great place to down
drinks, because for
sport lovers there’s a
welcoming bar with all
the latest sports games
shown live on screen.

Q BAR
High on a hillside with
stunning views over
Chaweng and beyond,
Q Bar Samui continues
its reign as the local
nightclub with the most
eye-popping setting.
Sleek modern lines,
funky lighting and
international tunes are
what made Q Bar’s
reputation. Start early
by ordering from its
new food menu before
relaxing into the swing
of things as the sun
sets. It’s not until around
10pm when the party
really gets started.

MAX MURPHY’S NATHON
As the island’s municipal centre,
Nathon is home to the major
ferry ports, police stations and
civic offices and now its first
Irish pub! Easy to spot among
the local shopfronts, Max
Murphy’s invites all to enjoy the
classic Irish tastes of Kilkenny
and Guinness. Recently opened,
it’s fast becoming the local
watering hole of choice for both
resident expats and tourists
fresh off the ferry.

NIKKI BEACH
There’s always a full week’s
lineup of events at hip lifestyle
club Nikki Beach, which is
where the beautiful and the
well-off hang out. Saturdays
are dedicated to a barbecue
complete with funky music and
a jet-setting crowd keen to turn
it into a night to remember.

DJ NAKADIA AT DREAMERS
Asia’s most successful
female decksmith, DJ Nakada
is something of a dance
figurehead, not just on Samui
but across the region. She has
a very striking fashion sense,
too, which is much admired.
Now a resident of Berlin,
Nakada’s next local headlining
gig – one of just a handful of
appearances she’ll be making in
Samui – is at Dreamers beach
club in January. Dreamers is the
island’s newest music venue,
consistently attracting the cool
crowd to Ban Rak beach with
its eye-catching interiors and
oceanfront location. Check
Dreamers’ website for details.
