More About Slidell, LA
Slidell /slaɪˈdɛl/ is a city on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 27,068 at the 2010 census.[3] Greater Slidell has a population of about 90,000.[4] It is part of the New Orleans−Metairie−Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area.
One of the earlier settlers to the area was Foster Willie. Along with a younger brother, Wesley Coke Asbury Gause, Judge Wingate, and several others, he left Shallotte, North Carolina, on February 18, and arrived at Pearlington, Mississippi, on April 14, 1836. Wesley and his family remained there, while John and family crossed the Pearl River and built a log cabin on the west bank, a little further south. He then began a lumber mill in the fledgling town later known as Slidell. His traveling back and forth from lumber yard to home created a road known today as Gause Boulevard, a major east/west street in the town. The lumber yard was where Gause Boulevard crosses the railroad track. The log cabin was built at the east end of the road, just a few yards from the river. The house stood until the late 1990s, and a small family burial plot still remains where John is buried between his two wives, Lydia Russ and Johanna Frederica VanHeemskerk.

Freon is toxic, so call a pro instantly on sight. In less major cases, nevertheless, it might be water because the tube that deals with condensation is blocked or broken. This can manifest a couple of methods. Often, you’ll see water leaking out of the unit onto your floor, and other times you might notice ice inside your HEATING AND COOLING on the copper refrigerant lines that run outside the condenser.
A power expense that suddenly shoots up without a corresponding bump in how often you are running your a/c unit is another strong sign that your system needs repair or replacement. There are multiple causes for this particular concern, including leakages in your A/C’s ductwork, a broken thermostat switch, or the advanced age of the unit.
Put simply, if your Air Conditioner has actually made it to its tenth birthday, or longer, you need to thank it for its unusually long life of service and start purchasing a new system. A decade is at the high end of the length of time air conditioning unit live for. Another thing I loved as a kid was playing outdoors on a hot summer day and coming home to my moms and dads’ cool, refreshingly air conditioned house.

Possibly that need to have been my second clue that I would grow up to assist folks with their damaged A/C units. These 10 signs are useful reminders of how to identify issues quickly and, in many cases, aid prevent an Air Conditioner replacement completely. Temperature levels in the 70s aren’t natural during the summertime in Sacramento; it takes a lot of correctly working mechanics to keep your home in the comfort zone.
If you do notice any of the indications above, I don’t advise tackling them yourself. Too much can fail. Give me a call, and I’ll enjoy to help. I’ve been doing it the majority of my life. Image courtesy Unsplash user Steinar Engeland.
The weather condition is warming up … And you’re not 100% sure, you think your cooling system may not be carrying out quite the very same as it did last year. Is it time for a upkeep call to a HVAC business? Or are you overlooking something basic that might be leading to its performance decline? If air being flowed through your vents isn’t as cold as it utilized to be– your system is working overtime to keep temperatures comfy.
Your fan, which is accountable for pushing all that lovely, cool air through the ductwork, can give in to a variety of problems that can significantly reduce air flow, varying from filthy air filter, bad blower motor or faulty fan control board. Your system is developed to stay dry at all times, otherwise mold and mildew in your system and house might result.
All systems are developed to run silently. Louder than normal operation– especially metal screeching, grinding or banging noises– suggest something wrong inside the unit (damaged elements, loose belts, debris). When weird noises take place, you may need to get it examined by a cooling company so call the service technician ASAP to prevent considerable system damage.
Tend to these rapidly to safeguard your household’s health. In some cases your system is not the issue– it’s your thermostat. Some signs may be obvious (a setting of 75 and a home temperature level that’s off by 10s of degrees), while others won’t be (varied temperature level zones throughout the home). Thankfully your well-informed location A/C specialist can rule this out in a jiff.
If it was operating fine last season, but this year’s energy expenses have spiked, that’s a good indication you need your system examined. Brief cycling, poor air flow, odors, freezing up, irregular cooling, and higher than normal utility bills can also be attributable to simple maintenance that takes the typical property owner less than 5 minutes to tend to: Air filter replacement.
Don’t disregard this prior to reaching out to the repairman– it can also help you prevent getting a red face when he pulls that nasty old filter out of the system. Do not let your summertime a/c unit repair needs snowball into pricey emergency situation repair. Contact H&H Heating and Air Conditioning and set up an air conditioning unit service and efficiency check today.
A: Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling. A: The most essential part of A/C maintenance aspect is maintaining unrestricted air flows. Dust, dirt, and debris are an A/C system’s worst enemies. Whether it’s an indoor or outside unit, you need to keep all filters clean and heat exchangers and coils devoid of restrictions.
