More About Slidell, LA
Slidell /slaɪˈdɛl/ is a city on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 27,068 at the 2010 census.[3] Greater Slidell has a population of about 90,000.[4] It is part of the New Orleans−Metairie−Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area.
One of the earlier settlers to the area was Foster Willie. Along with a younger brother, Wesley Coke Asbury Gause, Judge Wingate, and several others, he left Shallotte, North Carolina, on February 18, and arrived at Pearlington, Mississippi, on April 14, 1836. Wesley and his family remained there, while John and family crossed the Pearl River and built a log cabin on the west bank, a little further south. He then began a lumber mill in the fledgling town later known as Slidell. His traveling back and forth from lumber yard to home created a road known today as Gause Boulevard, a major east/west street in the town. The lumber yard was where Gause Boulevard crosses the railroad track. The log cabin was built at the east end of the road, just a few yards from the river. The house stood until the late 1990s, and a small family burial plot still remains where John is buried between his two wives, Lydia Russ and Johanna Frederica VanHeemskerk.

Freon is harmful, so call a pro immediately on sight. In less severe cases, however, it might be water due to the fact that the tube that disposes of condensation is blocked or broken. This can manifest a couple of methods. Sometimes, you’ll see water leaking out of the unit onto your floor, and other times you may discover ice inside your HVAC on the copper refrigerant lines that run outside the condenser.
A power bill that all of a sudden soars without a matching bump in how frequently you are running your air conditioning system is another strong indication that your system is in need of repair work or replacement. There are multiple causes for this particular concern, consisting of leaks in your A/C’s ductwork, a broken thermostat switch, or the advanced age of the unit.
Merely put, if your Air Conditioner has made it to its tenth birthday, or longer, you ought to thank it for its abnormally long life of service and begin purchasing a brand-new system. A years is at the high-end of the length of time air conditioning system live for. Another thing I loved as a kid was playing outside on a hot summer day and coming house to my parents’ cool, refreshingly air conditioned house.

Perhaps that must have been my 2nd clue that I would grow up to assist folks with their busted HEATING AND COOLING systems. These 10 indications are useful pointers of how to find issues rapidly and, in many cases, aid prevent an Air Conditioner replacement completely. Temperatures in the 70s aren’t natural during the summer in Sacramento; it takes a lot of correctly working mechanics to keep your home in the convenience zone.
If you do discover any of the signs above, I do not recommend tackling them yourself. Excessive can go wrong. Give me a call, and I’ll more than happy to assist. I have actually been doing it many of my life. Image courtesy Unsplash user Steinar Engeland.
The weather is warming up … And you’re not 100% sure, you think your cooling system might not be carrying out quite the like it did in 2015. Is it time for a maintenance call to a HVAC company? Or are you ignoring something easy that might be leading to its efficiency decline? If air being distributed through your vents isn’t as cold as it used to be– your system is working overtime to keep temperature levels comfy.
Your fan, which is accountable for pushing all that lovely, cool air through the ductwork, can succumb to a variety of issues that can significantly lower air flow, varying from unclean air filter, bad blower motor or defective fan control panel. Your system is designed to remain dry at all times, otherwise mold and mildew in your system and house could result.
All systems are designed to run quietly. Louder than regular operation– especially metallic shrieking, grinding or banging sounds– suggest something incorrect inside the unit (damaged elements, loose belts, particles). When unusual noises take place, you may need to get it inspected by an air conditioning business so call the technician ASAP to prevent significant system damage.
Tend to these rapidly to protect your household’s health. In some cases your system is not the issue– it’s your thermostat. Some indications might be obvious (a setting of 75 and a house temperature level that’s off by 10s of degrees), while others won’t be (differed temperature zones throughout the house). Fortunately your experienced area A/C professional can rule this out in a jiff.
If it was operating fine last season, but this year’s energy expenses have actually increased, that’s an excellent indication you need your system examined. Brief biking, poor airflow, odors, freezing up, irregular cooling, and greater than regular energy expenses can also be attributable to simple upkeep that takes the typical house owner less than 5 minutes to tend to: Air filter replacement.
Don’t neglect this before connecting to the technician– it can also help you prevent getting a red face when he pulls that nasty old filter out of the system. Don’t let your summertime air conditioning unit repair work requires snowball into costly emergency repair work. Contact H&H Heating and A/c and set up an air conditioning unit service and efficiency check today.
A: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. A: The most essential part of HEATING AND COOLING maintenance element is maintaining unrestricted air circulations. Dust, dirt, and particles are a HEATING AND COOLING system’s worst opponents.
