More About Matthews, NC

Matthews is a town in southeastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It is a suburb of Charlotte. The population was 27,198 according to the 2010 Census.

In the early 19th century, the early settlement that would become Matthews was unofficially named Stumptown for the copious amount of tree stumps left from making way for cotton farms. The community’s name later changed to Fullwood, named after appointed area postmaster John Miles Fullwood. The establishment of a sawmill and the cotton and timber industry helped Fullwood change into a town. Prior to the first train arriving on December 15, 1874, Fullwood acted as a stagecoach stop between Charlotte and Monroe. The town was incorporated into a municipal corporation in 1879 and was renamed Matthews for Edward Watson Matthews, a prominent resident, and director of the Central Carolina Railroad, which would later become known as the Seaboard Air Line Railroad.[4][5]
The Seaboard Air Line fell into Seaboard On July 1, 1967. Seaboard then merged with Chessie System to create CSX (Chessie Seaboard X)

Every cooling system contains an evaporator coil. The coil distributes refrigerant throughout a loop, which is what cools the air that moves through the rooms in your Guyton, Georgia, office or home. If your evaporator coil starts to leakage, it’s simple to stress and not know what to do. However with the help of a HVAC service technician and a fast response to the problem, you can get your evaporator coil up and running in no time.

But when you utilize cleansing products, aerosol air fresheners, adhesives for craft projects, and other chemicals in your home, they typically include unstable organic compounds (VOCs). As VOCs combine with wetness in the air, they can produce acids that form little pinhole leakages in the coil. These small holes, also referred to as “formicary tunneling deterioration,” enable air from the outside into your house.

The issue that numerous property owners face is knowing whether they have refrigerant leakages. The holes in the copper coil are incredibly little, so they’re difficult to identify simply by taking a look at the part. Your evaporator coil also isn’t right away noticeable to someone looking at the HEATING AND COOLING system, so a leakage needs medical diagnosis by a knowledgeable A/C specialist.

Here in the Guyton area, we experience warm and humid temperatures throughout much of the year. So most homeowner rely greatly on their a/c systems to keep their homes comfy during the late spring, summertime, and even early fall. If your cooling system takes a long period of time to cool your home down, this is a sign that you might have a refrigerant leakage.

It might not be able to keep up, leading to warm and uncomfortable temperatures throughout interior areas. When you turn on your air conditioner or lower the thermostat, the cooling system need to kick on immediately to begin blowing cold air through the vents. If the airflow feels weak or does not turn on right away, you might have a refrigerant leak.

These indications might show other issues with the cooling system, but having warm air come out of your vents when the cooling system is on is never an excellent indication. If you do have this take place, turn off your system and call a HVAC professional to check. Keeping the system on may trigger more damage.

But this isn’t like the gas in your vehicle that gets consumed through routine usage. A cooling system will not run out of refrigerant, unless it has a leakage. It cycles the same refrigerant to cool the air as required. So if you’ve dealt with HEATING AND COOLING technicians in the past who inform you that the system just requires to be filled up, that is incorrect.

If you suspect you have a refrigerant leakage, give us a call at Byrd Heating and Cooling. We will send a technician to your office or home right away to perform testing that will assist confirm the issue. If your suspicion is proper, the finest choice is to change the evaporator coil.

While the cost of a new evaporator coil isn’t always low-cost, it will permit your system to efficiently cool your home without having the refrigerant seep out through small holes. Routine upkeep of your HEATING AND COOLING system is also crucial to make sure it remains in excellent condition. Altering the filters each month will keep the air moving effectively while filtering dirt, dust, pet hair, dander, pollen, and other debris out of the system.

During your regular upkeep service, the professional can likewise examine and clean up the evaporator coil with a service that will eliminate dirt and dust and reduce the effects of acid that types and triggers the leaks. A clean coil can move heat more effectively, which indicates that the system will not need to stay on as long to cool the air.

So keeping your system running as effectively as possible can help in reducing the threat of a refrigerant leakage. Having your duct cleared out will likewise help in enhancing the effectiveness of your heating and cooling system. When dust, pollen, dirt, and other particles develop up within the ducts, the system needs to work more difficult to move the air to various parts of the home or workplace.

Regular duct cleansing is advantageous because it helps to extend the life of numerous elements of your cooling system, improves efficiency, and keeps much better air quality, so you can breathe easier. If you wind up getting your evaporator coil changed, the last thing you desire to do is continue using the same products that caused the leakage in the very first place.
