Other courses are on calendar as well.  Please join us at PFW for a great learning experience. Founded in 1985, the Chippendale International School of Furniture ranks amongst the world’s top five furniture making and design schools – and in 2015 the School celebrated its 30th Anniversary! Every year our cabinet making courses buzz with up to 24 furniture designers learning the best of traditional and modern furniture making. Our furniture school runs furniture design courses and cabinet making courses, giving you the skills to become a professional furniture maker and woodworker.
Our furniture school runs intensive nine-month furniture making courses, providing the equivalent of a three-year course in less than a year.
Anyone completing one of our five-day courses and then going on to join our full-time course will have the cost of the short course deducted in full from the full-time course fees.
Oak Fields cabinet making courses are designed to give you an enjoyable, relaxing experience making or restoring furniture, enjoying the satisfaction of creating and working with wood.

Xavier, proprietor of Oak Fields and course tutor has designed the courses especially to offer a rewarding experience, whether making or restoring furniture, and his bright, open workshop adds to the feel-good, factor as it provides a pleasing environment to work in.
Long and short courses for small groups run all year round from our idyllic workshops in Worcestershire; courses include chair making, wood turning, French polishing, veneering and furniture making for beginners, improvers and aspiring professionals. Peter Sefton is an award winning Furniture Maker with 27 years’ experience and he runs the only private purpose-built furniture school in the UK dedicated solely to teaching Woodworking and Furniture Making. We run fun and interactive 3 and 4 day Antique Furniture Recognition Courses from our beautiful Deer Farm in Scotland. Come join us and learn furniture making and woodworking skills in a supportive and invigorating studio environment.

The courses are run by Liz Marks and with a maximum of five students per course the amount of tuition you receive individually is exceptional. We hold classes on Upholstery, Furniture Painting & Gilding, Loose Cover making and Chair Caning. Our school provides instruction in furniture making such as woodturning course or lathe woodturning techniques, how to use a plane (planecraft), tablesaw techniques, mortise and tenon joint classes, dovetail classes, techniques in veneering, chisel techniques, and instruction in finishing such as French Polishing and Oil and Varnish. We are members of the Association of Master Upholsterers and have been teaching courses in upholstery, full-time, since the business was established in 1990.
