Gutters are used to carry runoff water away from the roofs and walls of homes and to conveniently dispose of this water. While seemingly simple, gutters are highly important to the long life of your home. Without gutters, water would simply fall from the roof and sit or soak into the ground around the house. While it might look terrible having pools of runoff water sitting around the house, more importantly, if the water soaked into the ground where it lay, it would soon undermine the very foundation of the house. Worst of all, houses without gutters run the risk of runoff coming down on the inside of the walls. This water will damage ceilings, walls, insulation, and internal electrics and structure. Clearly, gutters are protected from problems that no homeowner wants. Yes, when it comes to gutters, it is imperative that the correct gutters are installed and that they are well maintained either by yourself or a professional gutter cleaner.
