All items listed on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine or have been previously reviewed by the Town Council, and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the General Order of Business, and considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

C.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the waiver of interest for taxpayers in accordance with ordinance Section 70-90 "Waiver of interest on overdue quarterly property tax and utility payments."

 

C.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE a Class F-1 Alcoholic Beverage License for the Narragansett Lion's Club for the annual Gansett Days celebration to be held on Friday, September 18th, and Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at Veteran's Memorial Park and Gazebo Park, subject to state and local regulations.

D.1 A MOTION TO DISCUSS AND REVIEW the ongoing progress and measurable improvements at the Town's Wastewater Treatment Facilities.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

E.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the memorandum of understanding and appointment of the Fire Department's EMS Medical Director.

 

F.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

F.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of three (3) new 2026 Dodge Police Utility AWD vehicles from Colonial Municipal Group, in the amount of $125,342.40 utilizing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts contract.

 

G.

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

G.1 A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for the purchase of Toter Trash Bags for the Parks and Recreation and Public Works Departments to the lowest bidder, Central Poly-Bag Corp. at the unit costs of $21.77 per Case of 64-gallon clear bags and $16.31 per Case of 64-gallon black bags, for a one (1)-year period.

 

G.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the request to fill the position of a clerk in the Parks and Recreation Department and any subsequent vacancies that may arise from the filling of this position.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

 

H.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE, RATIFY, AND CONFIRM Change Order No. 7 with Martone Service Company, Inc. for the Town Hall Front Entrance Refurbishment Project in the amount of $15,226.89.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

 

I.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE a contract with DiPrete Engineering to provide design and engineering services for the creation of the Town Council-approved bike path from the Community Center to Kingstown Road and Caswell Street, in the amount of $153,500.00.

 

J.

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

 

J.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the the purchase of one (1) new 2026 Chevrolet 2500, Regular Cab work truck from Colonial Municipal Group, in the amount of $48,893.20, utilizing the Greater Boston Police Council contract and APPROVE the purchase of one (1) Knapheide service body Model 696 equipment package from Dejana Truck and Utility Equipment (a division of Douglas Dynamics, LLC), in the amount of $24,980.00, utilizing the RI Master Pricing Agreement.

 

K.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

 

K.1 A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for Electronic Security System Upgrade to Convergint Technologies LLC, in the amount of $71,090.00.

 

L.

TOWN CLERK

 

L.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE an application for a special event permit and WAIVE the fee associated for Narragansett Parks and Recreation for the annual Endless Summer event (which includes the annual Calamari Festival) that is being held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Veteran's Memorial Park and Gazebo Park, subject to state and local regulations.

 

DISCLOSURE OF EXECUTIVE SESSION VOTES (if any)

 

Vote taken during the July 6, 2026 Executive Session:

MOTION TO APPROVE THE TOWN MANAGER CONTRACT WITH THE FOLLOWING TERMS:

  • Three (3) year contract
  • Up to two (2) weeks vacation verbiage change
  • First year salary starting September 1, 2026 at $165,307, with a 3% increase annually for years 2 and 3
  • One (1) additional week vacation (5 total)
