Insert function

The ability to perform basic calculations is the principal reason for using a spreadsheet. To do that, you can insert a needed formula manually using the common mathematical operators or insert a predefined formula - Function.

To insert a function,

  1. select a cell you wish to insert a function into,
  2. click the Insert Function Insert Function icon icon situated at the top toolbar,
    or right-click within a selected cell and select the Insert Function option from the menu,
    or click the Function icon icon before the formula field,
  3. select the function you need from the list,
  4. enter the function arguments either manually or dragging to select a range of cells to be included as an argument.

Statistical Functions Are used to analyze data: finding the average value, the largest or smallest values in a range of cells.
