We'll have a real gallery here soon, but until then here are some links to some photos of Ecuador:
Quito:
- Church Ceiling: Most of the time I photograph church ceilings the other way, so that the windows are on the opposite side of the photos. This time around I tried something different.
- Legal Conflict: This theater experienced a fire and, due to a legal conflict over who should pay for the repairs, no repairs were done. So it's pretty... apocalyptic?... inside. I liked its tiles, though.
- Rain Drops: Sarah and I went for a walk and came across a community center of some sort that had an entire wall filled with reflective rain drops. Unfortunately, before I could take more than a few photos a security guard (or was it a police officer?) came over and said something quite long in Spanish that roughly translated to, "No."
Banos (with an accent mark over the 'n'):
- Ecuador Rainbow Spiral: I've seen some buildings in Ecuador that have a "rainbow spiral" printed-graphic, but this building in Banos had one painted by hand.
- Constrictor: Do the eyes of constrictors rotate and self-level? I think that'd be pretty cool!
- Monkey of the Year: We visited an animal rescue center in Puyo that had many kinds of animals, including several kinds of monkeys. One female monkey liked holding my hand; our guide said she was scent-marking me.
- Love Birds: We visited a farm that grows cocoa and makes artesenal chocolate. One of these birds liked me and rode around on my left shoulder, giving my ear affectionate nibbles.
