Nia

Nia is a one year old classic black and tan female. She was owner surrender to a Sacramento area shelter when they moved and couldn't take her with them. She had been primarily an outside dog in the past, and has decided the indoor life is quite nice, and actually appears to be housebroken.

Nia mostly enjoys the company of her person, inside or outside. It appears that Nia has not seen much of the world. Still uncertain of herself, we are working on building her confidence. Food is not a priority for her, so she can stand to gain about some weight.

Although Nia is reactive toward the dogs and cats in her foster home while crated, outside the crate she ignores the cats and gets along fine with both the male and female dogs in her foster home. Nia rides nicely in the car, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She knows some basic commands and walks easily on a leash.
