Jolie
Jolie is a spunky adorable 12-18 month old female. Weighing in at almost 50lbs, Jo is a petite little girl. Jolie and her sister Zoey were kept as outdoor pets, and were turned into the shelter for killing a cat. Jolie is definitely the dominant of the two sisters. She exhibits some prey drive with squirrels, rabbits, deer, and livestock when out on walks, so should not be placed in a home with cats, small dogs or other small furry critters.
Jolie came out of the shelter not knowing a thing. It was obvious she had never been walked on leash, nor been inside a home. She would drop to the ground when she didn't know what do do or if you reached too fast for her collar. Jo is a smart girl and learns fast. She now walks on leash fairly well, she knows sit, bed, and her recall is improving by the day. She will occasionally be reactive to strange dogs, but corrects fairly easily, and is improving with socialization. She will still flop over if unsure, but that is not happening as frequently, and she is gaining confidence by the day. Jolie rides nicely in the car, and will sleep quietly in her crate at night.
Jolie gets along with the other large dogs in her foster home. She does like to play rough with the younger dogs in the household, and can be a little bossy. Jo still has a lot of puppy in her, and will occasionally grab the dish brush, or a shoe and run off with it. It is never returned in quite the same condition. Although Jolie has not been living in a house for long, she has not had an accident in her foster home. She does occasionally try to jump up and use a chair as her dog bed. Sometimes she will even jump into the chair when your sitting in it, and will attempt to settle in as a lap dog. She is at her cutest when she climbs into a laundry basket to lie down, and looks at you like "these clothes weren't clean, were they?"
Jolie is looking for an active household that will give her plenty of exercise, plus continue her socialization and training. This is one special girl that will steal your heart before you know it.
