Amend CSSB 1727 (senate committee report) as follows:
\r\n (1) In SECTION 5 of the bill, in added Section 54.05(k), Family Code (page 3, line 34), strike "violation of probation" and substitute "conduct violating a penal law for which the child was placed on probation and the manner in which the conduct was engaged".
\r\n (2) In SECTION 5 of the bill, strike added Section 54.05(k)(4), Family Code (page 3, lines 36 through 38), and substitute the following:
\r\n (4) the protection of the victim of the conduct for which the child was placed on probation or of a family member of the victim of that conduct
\r\n (3) In SECTION 7 of the bill, in amended Section 54.052(d), Family Code (page 5, line 5), between "custody" and the period, insert "for completion of the child\'s sentence".
\r\n (4) In SECTION 7 of the bill, in added Section 54.052(e), Family Code (page 5, lines 10 and 11), strike "child\'s transfer to a department facility" and substitute "date the child is committed to the department".
\r\n (5) In SECTION 7 of the bill, immediately following added Section 54.052(e), Family Code (page 5, between lines 11 and 12), insert the following:
\r\n (f) The Texas Juvenile Justice Department shall grant credit under this section for the purpose of calculating the minimum period of confinement for a child under Section 245.051(c), Human Resources Code, for time spent by the child in a secure detention facility on or after the date the child is committed to the department.
