A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the release of certain video surveillance of special |
|
|
education settings. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 29.022, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (i-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(i-2) A video recording of a student made according to this |
|
|
section is not subject to a subpoena issued under Section 2001.089, |
|
|
Government Code, to compel its production unless the release of the |
|
|
video recording is authorized under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
