CLINICAL INFORMATION: Chronic hepatitis C, liver cirrhosis, HCC screening EXAMINATION: MRI ABD W/WO CONT, 2/10/2016 9:30 AM, MR160004820 COMPARISON: Multiple previous MRIs most recently Oct 14, 2015 TECHNIQUE: MRI of the abdomen obtained using multiplanar and multiecho sequencing technique before and after the uneventful demonstration of 20 mL Magnevist IV. FINDINGS: The liver again demonstrates a slightly nodular contour compatible with patient's known chronic liver cirrhosis. The previously described subtle indeterminate enhancing nodule in segment V is not definitely identified on today's study. There is no evidence of abnormal arterial enhancement with portal venous washout to suggest HCC. The portal vein appears widely patent. The spleen is slightly enlarged. The pancreas, adrenal glands, and right kidney remains unremarkable. Small benign cortical cyst again seen within the upper pole of the left kidney. Multiple gallstones are again seen within the gallbladder. The large and small bowel loops in the abdomen are decompressed. Post surgical change identified from prior posterior lumbar spine fusion. IMPRESSION: 1. Mild chronic appearing liver cirrhosis. 2. No evidence of abnormal enhancement to suggest HCC. 3. Previously described subtle nodular enhancement within segment V is not identified on this study.
