Join us as we continue our series in Mark’s Gospel, looking at Jesus the servant king. This evening we look at Jesus’ revelation of his glory to his three closest disciples on the mountain. If they could have seen it, they were being welcomed into a revelation of God himself on the mountain just like Moses and Elijah before. But they dont recognise it, they still can’t see the truth right in front of them.

Join us as we continue our series in Mark’s Gospel, looking at Jesus, the servant king. This week we see the turning point of the gospel; Peter’s revelation that Jesus is the Messiah. We will see Jesus ask the disciples the question that all have been asking of him; who is he? What is he about? As much as Peter is enabled to see that Jesus is the Christ they have no idea what that means. And so Jesus spells out just what it requires to follow him; to imitate him.

We continue by looking at Jesus healing the blind man in a miracle which actually shows what is also going on with Jesus’ disciples. They, like this blind man, cannot see and then gradually have their eyes opened to who Jesus is.

We see the Pharisee’s trying to test Jesus as if he’s just another teacher. When really, Jesus is the God who is not to be tested and who tests them. And we see the disciples who so often fail under testing - again completely missing who Jesus was and what he was doing.

Jesus shows how he is doing the exact sme things among Gentiles as Jews, he is welcoming them in in the same way. Jesus is building a much bigger table than they expect and he’s building a global family.

Join us as we continue our series in Mark’s Gospel looking at Jesus the servnt king. This morning we look at Jesus’ continued ministry among Gentiles in the Decapolis. Here Jesus, amongst many other healings, heals a man who is deaf and struggles to speak. Once again we see Jesus challenging religious expectations - that he should not associate with a Gentile, that the Gentiles were impure, that the Gentiles had not part in God’s Kingdom, that this deaf man was unclean, that the deaf man must have sinned to be unwell… Jesus comes to bring total healing, redemption and restoration to the whole creation and Mark shows how this story shows that Jesus is the promised Saviour who will deliver.

Last time we saw Jesus confronting the religious leaders, showing that what makes us uunclean is what comes from within us. This mornign we look at Jesus pushing the idea of whether there are some people who are not included in God’s plan and how he shows that nobody is excluded by anything but their response to him.

Join us as we continue our series in Mark’s Gospel looking at Jesus the servant king. This morning we look at Jesus coming into conflict with the religious leaders. The religious leaders had reduced following God to a performance of a set of rules, rather than a relationship with God. These rules had the appearance of wisdom in helping people to God’s law, but really pushed them away from him. The rules had the effect of pushing people awy from other people and away from God and so they were worthless and ineffective spirituality.

The disciples have spent all their lives in religious circles and yet do not know how to pray. And we see that Jesus offers more than just a prayer to pray, but a framework to shape all of their prayers.

We look at what Jesus is revealing about his identity and his mission through miraculously providing bread in the wilderness; just as his Father had done in the exodus.
