Use this checklist rubric to evaluate student’s work while providing them with quality feedback. For this unit, students will begin by reading the chapter about Native Americans and early America in their textbook. Please view the rubric directly below this that includes 6 grading areas for the rubric that we will be using in class.
If respectable institutions have linked to a site, that provides a clue about the site’s credibility.Does the site appear in major subject directories like Librarian’s Index to the Internet (lii.org)? Is the information inconsistent with information you learned from other sources?? Is the information second hand? Sometimes a bias is useful for persuasive essays or debates.? Understanding bias is important. Have you or your librarian heard of or been able to verify them?? Is the material reproduced (accurately) from another publication?? What kind of links did the author choose?? Are the hyperlinks reliable, valuable?? Do the links work? Where does the information come from??When does it make sense to use it??When are other sources better choices?


The presentation should summarize the strategic plan, implementation procedures and results as compared to plan.
Affiliation?? Does the author’s experience really qualify him or her as an expert?? Does he or she offer first-hand credibility? Students will look at multiple historical sources that tell the story of American Indian history in the early 19th century and reflect on how this history hS Impacted them today. Students will be able to access the Internet to do searches of that help them explore perspectives of how Native American and white Americans should coexist during a time of great change in our nation. Students should also have knowledge of the post Revolutionary War development of the United States, including the Constitution, Jefferson's Presidency, Louisiana Purchase, War of 1812, Jackson's Presidency, the "Great Revival" as well as relevant North Carolina history during this time.
