This product is guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship for a period of one year, form the date of original purchase. Wood putty, also called plastic wood, is a substance used to fill imperfections, such as nail holes, in wood prior to finishing. Low EnergyWith chalk as the main ingredients, natural wood putty has a low embodied energy.Low footprintWith chalk as the main ingredients, natural wood putty has a low environmental impact. Timbermate Wood filler never shrinks, sinks, cracks, or falls out of your Hardwood Flooring. Timbermate is versatile and may be used for all interior repairs, including repairing edges, trowel and grain filling, and spot patching.
If Timbermate freezes, just add hot water or put in a Microwave for 30 seconds at a time until it softens. If you do find a tiny gap, it may be possible to sand to fit or apply excess clamp pressure but often a little wood filler can make a big difference. The good news is, you probably have everything you need to make perfect matching wood putty. The holidays are definitely upon us, but we still have time to get our house ready for family and friends, making sure that when they leave, our house still looks as good as when they arrived.
A new inexpensive doormat will not only look more attractive, but it will save wear-and-tear on your carpeting and hardwood floors as it picks up sharp particles of grit from your guests’ shoes.
Once inside the front door, your guests may be reaching for the newel post at the bottom of the stairs. We certainly don’t have time for a new refinishing project, so grab a Minwax® Wood Finish Stain Marker to cover up any nicks and scratches on your furniture. And speaking of furniture, the holidays also mean people will be moving your furniture, sliding it across your precious hardwood floors.
Once they settle in, your guests will be setting their glasses down just about anywhere, so make sure you have plenty of coasters handy, including trivets or tiles for plates of hot food. Although it appears in this picture that our kitchen remodeling is complete, if you look closely (as my wife Leigh Ann often does), you will see that there is still some trim missing on the bottom and the top of the three cabinets to the left. The carpenters who moved our cabinets around had to remove the bottom and top trim boards in the process, but it fell to me to put them back after the tile layer had left.
First, I laid out the top and bottom trim pieces in their proper position, and began clamping them in place.
While I was still fuming over my mistake, Leigh Ann calmly picked up a nail punch and a hammer and tapped the nail back out of the board.

She wiped off the excess Wood Putty® with a paper towel and in no time at all had (once again) fixed my mistake. Of course, she then left me with the task of nailing up the rest of the trim and filling the nail holes while she took advantage of a break in the clouds to do some work in her gardens. It never seems to fail:  if you have wood in your home, you always end up with unwanted holes.
Coming from a family of DIYers, I have great memories helping with projects in my dad's basement workshop and refinishing antiques in my grandmother's back yard. Whether you are installing a new hardwood floor, refinishing an old one, or just keeping your existing floor looking good as new, Minwax® has a full range of products to make and keep your floors beautiful.
Minwax offers a variety of easy-to-use products to help clean and repair wood that is chipped, cracked, scratched, even decayed, to its original beauty. Natural and synthetic bristle brushes specifically designed for use with Minwax® wood finishing products. It is often composed of chalk combined with a binder that dries, sometimes with a diluent (thinner), wood dust or pigment.
However, if dry-sanded for instance, exposure to dust may result in build-up of material in eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. However you can completely revive it if you grind it up with pestel and mortar, and mix it with water. A blog on various topics including my thoughts on collaborative technology, personal information in the 21st century, the global internet (or the lack there of), dog training, cooking, architecture, and whatever happens to be a pet peeve on any given day !
This is regularly the case when parts come together from multiple angles and with multiple steps. If you’ve sanded any of the finish wood, take a small amount of sawdust from your finish sander (this will have the finest sawdust). Ours had loosened, but Leigh Ann simply had to tap the nails back in with a hammer and punch to tighten it, then disguised the holes with pre-tinted Minwax® Wood Putty to match the color of the oak.
Before they do, simply tap in protective furniture glides to make sure no one scratches your floor. And if the finish is looking thin, add a coat of Minwax® Wipe-On Poly to provide another layer of protection. Left overnight, even drips of alcohol and crumbs of food will have time to leave a permanent stain on your furniture finish or upholstery.
Yes, that is one of my nails that made an unscheduled turn and popped out through the front of one of my pieces of trim. And I think you’ll agree that as minor as a few trim boards can seem, they are the finishing touch in any project.

Knowing the best way to fill various types and sizes of holes is critical in being able to make them less noticeable, so if you think that might be helpful, just keep on reading! It was there I fell in love with the beauty of the grain of the wood, either hidden beneath an old dark finish or highlighted with a new coat of stain.
