Two weeks ago we started the first of our 2 part series on How To Build A Raised Garden Bed. Their are easier ways to make these–we just went with a little bit more intricate design! A simple arbor is easy to build and doesn’t imply a significant investment, but it will definitely enhance the look of your backyard. Always align the wooden components at both ends, before drilling the pilot holes and inserting the galvanized screws. After making the sides of the garden arbor, you should build the components of the arched top.
The next step of the woodworking project is to attach the 2×2 wood strips to the arched components, as in the free plans. After building the arched top of the arbor you should fit it into place and secure it tightly. PRO TIP: Use a spirit level to plumb the sides of the simple arbor and to check if the top component is perfectly horizontal.
PRO TIP: Sand the wooden surfaces with 120-grit sandpaper, vacuum the residues and apply several coats of stain or paint, to protect the wooden components against wood decay. If you like to work in your garden, you probably need a small shed to store all your tools. If you want to get a professional result, we strongly recommend you to use quality materials. Fit wooden blockings between the front and back wall frames, in order to enhance the rigidity of the structure. PRO TIP: Protect the wooden components from decay and enhance the look of the garden tool shed by applying several coats of paint.

If you're trying to build a greenhouse to fit into a particular location, this garden greenhouse design is just the thing that you are looking for. Make sure you give the roof enough slope, so that the water does not stagnate in the plastic that will be draped over the structure.
Now that you've come up with a plan, you can begin to figure out what lengths of pipe you are going to need.
Building with Kee Klamp fittings allows you to build a durable structure that is unique to you. Reach out to us if you need assistance and have fun building in ways that you never thought possible! As much as my daughter loves playing outside, sometimes she looks to me for things to do while she is outside – which I think has to do with her being an only child (not for long). Without inspiration from others on the internet I would have been completely overwhelmed by this project.
Fairy gardens can be made with anything you want – I really wanted to do this without spending a lot of money so we first searched our yard for things we already had that we could use.
This ended up being an inexpensive project because we were able to find a lot of things to use in our yard already. Woodsy showed us how he carved out the grooves to make the joints for the raised garden beds. Woodsy filled the garden beds with dirt, placed the plants where he wanted them to be planted, and then began planting each individual plant.

We are a husband and wife DIY team who documents our journey of homeownership one tutorial at a time.
In this article we show you free garden arbor plans that require just basic woodworking skills. In addition, we recommend you to buy quality lumber, such as cedar, pine or redwood, as the arbor will look exquisite and be durable. From our own experience, the easiest techniques to get the job done, in a professional manner, is to cut them out of 2×6 lumber. Check if the heads of the screws are level with the wooden surface and make the necessary adjustments if possible. If you have enjoyed the plans, we recommend you to share it with your friends, by using the social media widgets. The most important step of this woodworking project is to choose the right garden tool shed plans for your needs and tastes. Choose weather-resistant lumber and check if all the slats are straight and in a good visual condition. The best technique you could use is to drill pocket holes at  both ends of the blockings and to drive in appropriate screws. Mark the cut lines on the plywood sheets and adjust the size of the panels, using a circular saw (long straight lines)or a jig saw (curved lines).
As you can easily notice in the plans, you should assemble the frame using pocket holes screws and attach it to the siding. As you can easily notice in the image, you need to use cedar siding, as the components lock together easily and protect the shed from water.
Fill the holes with wood filler and let the compound to dry out for several hours, before sanding the surface with 120-grit sandpaper, along the wood grain.

This greenhouse was constructed by a retired contractor who enjoys growing his own vegetables.
Because you are using Kee Klamp, you can tailor the greenhouse to fit perfectly into your environment. Robert had the pipe for his roof bent, but if you don't want to bend pipe you can use a fitting instead. They will help you come up with a complete list of materials based on your measurements and sketches.
Once you have the roof together, you can lift it into the air a corner at a time, inserting the upright pipes as you go. After you put on the cover, the wind can catch the structure if it is not properly anchored. Building a greenhouse yourself will probably be cheaper and certainly offer better quality than standard pre-fabricated greenhouses.
Sometimes coming up with ideas is a stretch for my own creativity so I did some looking around on pinterest. Trying to think of things to put in the garden without spending a lot of money was the challenge. For the container we used the old birth bath but you could also use a tree stump (as pictured above) or a wide bowl or planter. At the dollar store I purchased a bag of flat glass rocks to use as stepping stones which worked great. As you will see in the instructions, building a simple arbor can be done in just a few hours, as you just need to cut a few components and assemble them together.
Select the lumber with attention, checking if the slats are straight and don’t have any visible flaws (bow, chips, splits).
As you can notice in the image, you need to leave about 11” between the strips of wood.
In this article, we show you how to build a basic lean to shed, large enough to store lots of tools, but still compact and affordable for almost any pocket. Always pre-drill holes before inserting the galvanized screws, to prevent the wood from splitting.

Drill pilot holes trough the perimeter joists, before locking the components together with 3” galvanized screws.
Robert was looking for a way to build a structure to protect his plants and came across Kee Klamp fittings.
Having a friend to help you at this point is a really good idea -- it will allow you to work more safely and efficiently. Of course all the fittings and pipe are galvanized so the whole metal structure will withstand the test of the elements! Further, you get wooden trellis panels at each and every garden center for affordable prices. We happened to have a perfect place for it because there is an old birth bath in our yard that has a crack in it so it won’t hold water. We dug up some moss that was growing in the grass and used that to make some little hills in the garden and also found some small plants and transplanted them into the garden. It took multiple days to work on it so it was something for her to do while I had other gardening work to get done.
This was a fairly easy project (although time consuming with the little details), and best of all it was light on our budget.
Kee Klamp fittings are galvanized metal fittings that allow you to build tubular metal structures without the need for welding.
It is a great place for a fairy garden because it’s at the perfect height for a 3 year old.
My daughter searched the yard for some interesting looking small rocks and painted them to use in the garden.
Now that the garden is done, she loves to check and see if any fairies have moved in and play pretend games with it. At the bottom of this article you'll find a list of fittings that Robert used to construct his greenhouse. If you want to be able to take the greenhouse down or move the structure then consider using base flanges that can be staked into the ground. To build a trellis, you require a nail gun or hammer, galvanized nail, a water marker, an electric hand saw, and finally a tape measure.
Using the internet for inspiration really helped me get ideas and help my daughter build her garden. I love that this project encourages imaginative play and is a way to get children in touch with nature. Now place the panel on the ground and cut out the required shape for the top portion of the trellis. The last part of the procedure includes applying stain or spray paint on the trellis.Trellis - Get a Good IdeaA trellis refers to an architectural construction made out of interwoven pieces of bamboo, wood or metal. Different kinds of trellises are available depending upon the type of plants as well as the location. The plants which are normally given support using a trellis include sweet peas, ivy, grapevines, climbing roses, and many more. For tender plants including morning glories, beans, sweet peas, etc., string or wooden trellis is commonly used. Further, metal trellises are not recommended for most of the climbing plants because when sunlight falls on the metal, it gets hot and arrests the growth of these plants.Bamboo Trellis - Complete InformationFor making a bamboo trellis, you require a number of bamboo canes in different diameters, a hand saw, a lashing cord, pencil, and a ruler or tape measure. The first step in this regard is to create a design by taking into consideration the shape and size of the area where the trellis would be placed.
After this is done, the trimmed canes could be cut into required size starting from the bottom.
