Generate power for corded tools anywhere you go without the cost and hassle of a gas-powered generator by wiring a power inverter to your truck battery. Even if you have a multi-drawer tool box that’s well organized, it's too big and heavy to lug around.
I’ll bet, like me, you hardly ever take your tool box to your project, you just try taking the tools you think you'll need. Here's the simple solution that will make it easier to; carry your tools to your project, find your tools, and save space and money.
One day I was strolling through my local home center looking for a divided box to store my fasteners when I spotted a multi-section plastic organizer. This tool box is only 18" W x 12.5" D x 3" H, which makes it's easy to store just about anywhere.
Sensing I found buried treasure, I immediately grabbed the case and started playing with it right then and there on the floor. So I got the hand tools I use most often (the same ones in the (Essential Hand Tools PDF) plus a few others, and began arranging them in the case. This tool box makes it so easy to actually carry your tools to your project and quickly find the tools you need. I can't imagine how much I would have saved if I'd only found this tool box earlier. I'll bet I've spent hundreds of dollars on tool boxes over the years and none of them have been as good as this one.
DIY Tip: DIY guy's love tool boxes, specially when they're as functional and durable as this one. Take my advise, the next time you're at Home Depot, go to the tool organizing isle (generally located next to the power tool section) and buy the Work Force 26 compartment organizer. By the way, I went back and bought two more of these incredibly useful tool boxes, one for my fasteners and a second for my electrical gear.
It's amazing how much less space these three new tool boxes take up versus just one of my old tool boxes.

Description from Home Depot: Workforce 25 Adjustable Deep Compartment Small Parts Organizer. I have attempted to locate this online but, so far, have only found it through a Canadian Home Depot for $16. The new DIY Best Tool Box and Organizers have been tested and are ready for your approval and purchase at DIY Tool Box SIghted and Captured.
I went back to Home Depot (online) and ordered the tool box and when I got to the check out I was told that the item is no longer available. As I had already checked their website for available products and found none, this was of no help. I went to Home Depot, in person, to see if I could find the tool boxes and they told me that they had plenty.
I am currently in contact with a representative of Home Depot who is trying to find some of these left overs. Also, I am actively searching for a acceptable alternative and will post my findings here and on Twitter.
This book is filled with tons of excellent pictures, diagrams and explanations covering basic repairs to advanced renovations, this is the best ?plumbing book I've ever found for the DIY homeowner. Everyone loves Dad, but does he really need another tie, pen, pair of cuff links, or bottle of aftershave? Head to your nearest dollar store and grab a bag of the flat-backed glass "marbles." Back at home, go through your unsorted photographs and pick out one of each family member. Anyway, the fact remains that for the majority of do it yourself projects you only need the essential tools, not every tool you own. It was made of heavy duty plastic, had adjustable sections, a locking clear lid, a good strong handle and the lid closed tight against the dividers so nothing can not jump from one section to another -- even if dropped. I too am very frustrated at the current situation regarding the discontinued Stanley tool box. But it turns out that Home Depot just took the new box, from Stanley, and gave it the old SKU from the old tool box.

The bottom line is, the only way to get these boxes now is to go to Home Depot and see if they have any of the old ones left.
This is one area where men really have women beat — if they got us the same gift for Mother's Day every year, we'd have mass uprisings in the streets. That’s the question Berto Aussems was confronted with when he sought to take his work as an electronics repairer on the road. Putting them together is a fun project, and the result is a cool, imaginative gadget that kids (and adults) will want to play with again and again.
Mick and Sue have been working with young makers for a long time: in 2006, they started Spiderfish, a series of innovative, hands-on workshops for kids that begun operating in Dublin, Ireland, and has recently crossed the Atlantic. We have also added an annex piece that works as a cardboard marker holder so you no longer have to glue the markers in place.
If the frame you have doesn’t look large enough for the center of your mantel, consider using a grouping of pieces.
But year after year, dads feign surprise and excitement as they place yet another personalized necktie in a drawer, never to be worn. Let your kids decorate it with stickers, paints, markers or cut out pictures of tools and Dad's favorite TV characters.
Cut and paste the photos to the flat side of the marble using craft glue — remember, the glue goes on the picture itself. This makes it easier to switch out the markers for paint brushes, crayons, pencils or replacement markers. Depending on the colors you choose and your holiday color scheme, you could possibly transition these from Fall to Holiday decor too.
Plus, not all of your pieces have to include words — you can use cut-outs of holiday shapes too! You know, totally disorganized, heavy, taking up too much space and you can't see what’s at the bottom of the pile. Spread out the tie, and fold the bottom point up just enough to make a straight line at the base of the tie.
Kids 8 and up can put it together on their own, younger children need adult help and supervision.
