Naples Capri Sorrento Rome

“La dolce vita” is a saying you’ve heard time and time again.

Although Federico Fellini’s 1960s film may have coined this phrase...

Italians have been perfecting this way of life over the centuries, all the way from the northern point of the country at the foot of the Alps to the powder-white shores of Sicily.

While it literally translates to “the sweet life,” la dolce vita is much more...

It’s taking an ordinary, everyday life and living it one moment at a time, allowing one to cherish and savor all that life has to offer.

Sound too good to be true?

Close your eyes and imagine you’re on a breezy terrace with sweeping views of the Amalfi Coast.

A delectable wine dances in your mouth as you feast your eyes on the glimmering Mediterranean...

The sun is setting...

Tiny fishing boats make their way back to shore after a long day’s work...

And all at once you can see the turquoise water turn cobalt as your eyes reach further, while twinkling lights pop up one by one on the cliffs of the neighboring town.

Now imagine taking it all in without a care in the world...

That’s la dolce vita.

And it’s just a taste of what you can expect on the exquisitely planned Wealth, Wine & Wander Retreat in Italy.

This coming September 23 to October 3, 2021, the Club will host an intimate group of like-minded travelers alongside Chief Income Strategist Marc Lichtenfeld and travel guide extraordinaire Fritz Satran.

Now, we’d never recommend seeing Italy in a hurry, but you’ll be surprised by just how much of it you can enjoy over 10 carefree days.

This retreat has been created to seamlessly blend the seductive allure of the Amalfi Coast with the enchantments of ancient marvels like Pompeii and the cosmopolitan splendors of Rome.

Everything you’ve ever wanted to see and do in these parts of Italy is available to you on this adventure.

And it’ll all take place in true Oxford Club style.

This trip includes...

Your tour hosts will be none other than the Oxford Club’s Chief Income Strategist Marc Lichtenfeld; Lifestyle Expert Fritz Satran, a longtime friend of the Club; and me - Oxford Club Event Director Steven King.

Marc Lichtenfeld, Chief Income Strategist, The Oxford Club

Marc Lichtenfeld is the Chief Income Strategist of The Oxford Club. After getting his start on the trading desk at Carlin Equities, he moved over to Avalon Research Group as a senior analyst. Over the years, Marc’s commentary has appeared in The Wall Street JournalBarron’s, and U.S. News & World Report, among others. Prior to joining The Oxford Club, he was a senior columnist at Jim Cramer’s TheStreet.

Today, he is a sought-after media guest who has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg Radio, Fox Business and Yahoo Finance. His book Get Rich with Dividends: A Proven System for Double-Digit Returns achieved bestseller status shortly after its release in 2012. And Marc’s new book,  You Don’t Have to Drive an Uber in Retirement: How to Maintain Your Lifestyle without Getting a Job or Cutting Corners, quickly became an Amazon No. 1 bestseller for retirement planning.

Marc is the Senior Editor of The Oxford Income Letter, which is based on his proprietary 10-11-12 System. He is the Editor of Stock Sequence Trader, Lightning Trend Trader  and Closing Bell Profits. He is also a Contributing Editor to Wealthy Retirement.

And there’s no bigger expert on extravagant trips than my good friend Fritz Satran.

At The Oxford Club, our trips are an experience so uniquely refined, you won’t find anything else like them... and Fritz is the key.

Born and raised in Vienna, Fritz founded AESU Travel in 1977 with the idea of increasing global understanding through travel.

Over the years, Fritz and his team have created unique and flawlessly executed travel experiences for many prestigious groups and universities, including the Johns Hopkins University trustees, the Baltimore Opera, and, of course, The Oxford Club. They have just completed a very special trip to Italy for the trustees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Fritz is a believer in the philosophy of Epicurus, namely that “It is not what we have, but what we enjoy, that constitutes our abundance.” The Epicurean philosophy is primarily concerned with the quest for true happiness and the challenge of how to achieve it.

As The Oxford Club’s Lifestyle Expert, Fritz has spoken about this approach to life on several previous trips and will do so again during our time in Italy.

Those who have traveled on a “Fritz Trip” know that this is truly a first-class event. One of our most recent trips inspired a traveler to write this message to Fritz:

“No one appreciates the magic of the moment and the power of special places to enrich our lives as you do.”

Here’s a detailed look at what we have planned for you...

Today we explore the sights of this intriguing port city with our local expert guide. We’ll see the 18th-century Teatro di San Carlo, one of the best opera houses in the world, as well as the five-towered Castel Nuovo. During our sightseeing, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local favorite, where we’ll sample the city’s most famous export – true Neapolitan pizza!

The afternoon finds us exploring the amazing Capodimonte Museum. Housed in a palace built for Bourbon rulers, the Capodimonte Museum is the largest museum in Italy and boasts a newly revitalized collection which includes works by artists ranging from Raphael to Andy Warhol.

We’ll return to the hotel for a short rest, and then tonight experience the true flavors of Old Naples with dinner at La Bersagliera, which has been serving Naples’ finest cuisine for more than 100 years.

DAY 4: September 26, 2021 (Sunday)

After breakfast this morning, get ready to hear from Oxford Club editors and other expert guests at our morning financial seminar. This will be followed by a buffet lunch at the hotel. Then it’s time to depart for the idyllic island of Capri. A hydrofoil whisks us to the island, considered by travelers the world over to be a glimpse of true paradise.

Upon arriving in Capri, we’ll make our way to the Grand Hotel Quisisana. One of the island’s most beloved and recognizable landmarks, the Quisisana has been the luxury escape of choice for visitors to Capri for more than 150 years.

The hotel sits just steps from La Piazzetta. Known as the most fashionable square in the world, La Piazzetta is the center of life on Capri, filled with sidewalk cafes and frequented by celebrities. Stop for coffee here and you might find yourself seated next to your favorite movie star!

Tonight we’ll enjoy cocktails with the stunning backdrop of the blue waters of the Mediterranean, followed by dinner at a charming local trattoria.

DAY 5: September 27, 2021 (Monday)

After breakfast this morning, we’ll depart for a day of island sightseeing so you can truly discover the magic of Capri. Weather permitting, the adventurous travelers among us can even visit the amazing Blue Grotto. Only small wooden boats are able to enter the Grotto – a bucket list-worthy destination and one of the most famous sea caves in the world.

Lunch will be served during our sightseeing expedition. Later this afternoon, we return to the hotel, where you can relax or explore the island’s many boutiques and cafés. Then get ready for a special event tonight. We’ll ascend to the very highest point of the island, Anacapri, for cocktails with an unforgettable view, followed by dinner.

This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then bid a reluctant farewell to Capri as we speed back across the Bay of Naples to Sorrento. Here we’ll check in to the elegant five-star Grand Hotel Cocumella.

The Cocumella is a secluded oasis built around an ancient cloister and gardens. Its elegant rooms have welcomed illustrious travelers since the 18th century. Delight in an al fresco lunch on the hotel’s spectacular terrace overlooking the sea.

The afternoon is free for exploring the shops and sights of Sorrento. Tonight we experience the hospitality of this lively city with a special southern Italian dinner, including musical entertainment.

DAY 7: September 29, 2021 (Wednesday)

Today we’ll be exploring the Amalfi Coast, a favorite vacation spot of film stars and billionaires and justifiably famous for its stunning beauty. After a lovely seaside lunch in Positano, we’ll cruise along the coast to the town of Amalfi.

The afternoon is free to stroll in the historic village, a UNESCO World Heritage site dominated by an impressive ninth-century cathedral. Make sure to sample cannelloni, which is said to have been invented in Amalfi in the early 1900s!

Tonight, enjoy a rustic taverna dinner, before we return to Sorrento late in the evening.

DAY 8: September 30, 2021 (Thursday)

Today we get an early start after breakfast as we head out for a scenic drive along the coast to Pompeii. We’ll have a special opportunity to tour the Pompeii excavations, including portions that are not open to the general public. The archeological site is both a somber memorial and a fascinating look into daily life in ancient times.

Then we’ll get a closer look at Mount Vesuvius as we enjoy lunch at a lovely restaurant located right in the foothills of the mountain itself. After lunch, it’s a short drive back to Naples, and then an impressive high-speed train will whisk us to Rome in about an hour.

Upon arrival in Rome, we’ll transfer to the iconic Hassler Roma, atop the Spanish Steps. The Hassler has been synonymous with five-star luxury in Rome for more than a century, and offers its guests sumptuous accommodations in a location perfect for exploring the Eternal City. After checking in, relax with cocktails and a light dinner at the hotel.

DAY 9: October 1, 2021 (Friday)

Our morning begins with visits to some of Rome’s most famous landmarks, including a walk through the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Lunch will be served in the rooftop garden of the Forum Hotel, overlooking the center of ancient Rome.

In the afternoon we’ll have the opportunity to marvel at the incredible Sistine Chapel, as well as the other treasures located in the Vatican Museums. This evening’s dinner takes us to one of Rome’s liveliest and most picturesque neighborhoods, Trastevere.

DAY 10: October 2, 2021 (Saturday)

Today our final financial seminar covers pressing investment and lifestyle topics. This will be followed by a buffet lunch at the hotel.

On your free afternoon, you might want to explore more of Rome’s beautiful sights, like Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, or the Trevi Fountain. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the fountain to ensure your return to Rome! Or if shopping is more appealing, it might be helpful to know that some of the world’s most exclusive boutiques line the Via Condotti, just down the Spanish Steps from the front door of the Hassler Roma.

Tonight, get ready for an unforgettable gala farewell event. A magnificent palace and lovely gardens overlooking the Roman skyline are the setting for our last meal together, as we reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
