So things LOOK a little different in our Virtual Studio!  While there are many obvious differences, after the first night of hosting LIVE Virtual classes, we also KNOW that many things still look the SAME... like the SMILES on the faces of the dancers who came to class and enjoyed doing what they love, interacting with their teachers and with one another!  Those SMILES make all the effort worth it!  

Please know that we, too, are learning right along with all of you. We did have a few technical difficulties last night and we have worked through most of those and hope not to encounter them again tonight.  You should be able to click the links for the virtual classrooms for each teacher directly from the home page at www.MDMathome.com and join your classes tonight.

As a summary, here are the important things for Parents to know/remember when attending Virtual Classes:

• When class is going on, please make sure that your dancer is muted.  When you are not muted, your dancer shows up as the "teacher" on the screen!  So while class is going on, participants need to be muted. The instructor will allow you to unmute for chat or roll call or questions, etc. 
• Please only log in/attend the virtual classes that you are currently enrolled in.  We are trying to keep the virtual classes small so that the instructors can see the students on the screen and give feedback.  After the recorded classes are uploaded to the MDMathome website, you are welcome to take classes that you are not enrolled in for extra practice.  www.MDMathome.com will be full of class opportunities for you!
• The recordings from the Live classes will be posted to the www.mdmathome.com website within 24 hours of class.  It takes some time to get the recording and get it uploaded to the website for you to access, so give us that 24 hour lag. But if you aren't able to join your class live, be assured that you can take it through the recording within 24 hours.
• Weekly Recital Video updates for each class will be uploaded to www.mdmathome.com and will be available on the day of your class each week.  Don't forget to use these video as part of your weekly class time!
• Be sure to leave the class by clicking the button/link that says "leave class" before logging in for the next class.  Even if you have back to back classes with the same teacher, we need you to leave each class and then re-log in for the next class.
• Keep  your device plugged in if possible! We found out that Zoom eats up battery life very quickly!  So be prepared in advance and stay plugged in to the power source if you can.
• Please have your dancers log on to www.mdmathome.com and have them look around the site; especially the community connection part.  We'd love to have them post their pictures from their classes this week and get engaged with one another in this place that is only for our dance families.

AND IN CASE YOU MISSED SOME THINGS PRIOR TO TODAY, here's everything you need to know:

1. Our new virtual studio, www.MDMathome.com is LIVE and will give you access to all of our Virtual Classes plus an extraordinary library of Bonus Classes, fun activities and learning opportunities, Recital video recordings, and MORE!  The homepage of this website gives you links to join the LIVE virtual classes. Listen to Miss Jana's welcome message to all dancers (i.e. it's ok if your house is a mess or your dog comes to dance class with you!)
2. You can click here for a virtual tour of this new studio and get some useful tips for using it. 
3. To participate in your classes LIVE, you will need to download the FREE application from Zoom.com. It works on computers, laptops, phones, tablets, etc... anything with Internet access.
4. If you have concerns about how a Virtual studio might work or whether it is a good fit for your dancer, PLEASE listen to Miss Jana's response to your questions and concerns by clicking here.  We understand this is not the same as physical classes, but know in our hearts that it is the next best thing.
5. We are still working through things, day by day, but plan to continue running our schedule of Virtual Classes until we are able to open our physical doors again and we hope you will give it a try this week... you have nothing to lose and lots to gain!
