Rostering with Alternative Methods

Rostering with alternative methods is not recommended and will not provide you with the flexibility that Clever or ClassLink have to offer. If you decide to use an alternative method, your options on what data can be imported and supported in each system may be limited.

What alternatives are available if Clever or ClassLink do not work for my organization?

We support OneRoster v1.1 REST (REpresentational State Transfer) API.

Note: API URLs must conform to the IMS standards. For OneRoster 1.1, click here specific details provided by IMS .

The API Root URL MUST be "/ims/oneroster", and the new version number MUST be "/v1p1". For example, "https://imsglobal.org/ims/oneroster/v1p1/*".

If you use Skyward, Infinite Campus, or ClassLink or are a certified vendor from IMS, OneRoster API is the best rostering method for you.

Follow this OneRoster 1.1 CSV workflow if you . . .

– Use TxEIS or an OR CSV-certified vendor (because the vendor will supply help/files)

– Make your files yourself (because OR 1.1 CSV can be used in systems other than ours, which saves you valuable time)

Note:

– IMS Global Learning Consortium, Inc. no longer supports OneRoster 1.0 and encourages all users to upgrade to OneRoster 1.1.

– We are aware of ongoing standards upgrades in the IMS workspace related to LTI and OneRoster. At this time, we support OR 1.1 but will look to prioritize development work and certification for upgraded versions in a future build.

HMH continues to support SFF. This is a proprietary import that is unique to HMH only.
