Navigate the Discover Page

Banner Tabs

The tabs in the banner are common navigation features available near the top of all pages in Ed.
The Discover tab offers two additional tabs:

–      HMH Resources – allows you to browse, search, open, and assign program content.

–      My Stuff – offers you the ability to create, open, store, and assign lesson plans and custom assessments

–      Bookshelf – an online library of books available to teachers and students if your district offers Read 180 (See Manage Read 180 Bookshelf for details.)

Program List

Opens a list of programs associated with the selected class.

At the top of the list, you see the program(s) that you selected for your classes on the Program Settings page (See Manage Programs for Classes for details).

The list also includes an Also Available to you section, which offers additional program materials that may be above or below the class's grade-level program and all of which can be browsed, searched, and assigned to the students in your class.

Note that these additional programs are not visible to your students in their Program List. Students will only have access to this additional content if it is included as part of an assignment.

Search

The search feature allows you to search for resources within the selected program by typing search criteria.

To use the search feature:

a.    In the Search field, type your search criteria text in the field (including words, phrases, standards, and so on)..

b.    If necessary, select the Exclude standards from results check box. With this option selected, your search results will include only resources tagged with the keyword(s) you enter in the Search field and will not include standards that also use the specified keyword(s).

c.    Click the magnifying glass icon in the Search field. The Resources page appears with a list of all the resources that match the search criteria within the selected program.

Note: To further narrow the resources listed, you can use the Filter panel on the left side of the page. For more details, see the Filters section of the Navigate the HMH Resources Page topic.

Provides options for viewing and accessing your program content:

Modules

This is the default view for the Discover HMH Resources page. (See Modules and Units Widget section below for details.)

Connected Solutions

Depending on the products that your organization provides, you may see a Connected Solutions option, which opens the Connected Solutions page. This page contains a card for each connected program. Some connected programs (such as Writable and Waggle) may appear in this area or, depending on how they are set up, in the Program List.

Standards

Shows the standard sets associated with the selected program. You can select a standard set to view the resources associated with a standard and then narrow the resource list based on grade, domains, and additional filters.

All Resources

Opens the Featured Categories page, which allows you to select a specific type of resource associated with the currently selected program or to select all the resources associated with the currently selected program.

➔    Click a resource type to open the Resources page, which lists all the resources of that type for the selected program. (In this example, clicking Teacher Guide PDF opens the Resources page to a list of all the Teacher Guide PDFs associated with the Into Reading program.)

➔    Click the Show Me Everything button to open the Resources page and view a list of all the available resources (all types of resources) for the selected program. You can then filter the list and open or assign resources.

My Favorites

Saves a list of the resources that you selected as favorites; the list is saved from year to year, allowing you to access your favorite resources in one location.

Modules / Units Widget

Provides the content of the selected program, broken down into modules/units and allows you to horizontally scroll through, select, and open modules/units.

Note: The labels used for the content segments in this widget can vary; labels may be modules, units, lessons, chapters, or some other label, depending on the selected program.

➔    Use the Previous () and Next () buttons to navigate through the program's modules or units.
