Title: Offering Great Incentives For Affiliates

Hello,

Some people feel like offering affiliates a commission is
some big slap in the face. After all, it’s their product.

I even saw a woman on a forum years ago throwing a huge
fit and accusing one of the major affiliate systems of
fraud because someone had “stolen” half her money. It was
just an affiliate making a sale of her product. She was
extremely angry.

People like this feel like they shouldn’t have to pay so
much. After all, why should they give half of “their” money
away?

Well, to most of us, the answer is obvious.

You are going to have to pay for traffic one way or another.

You will either pay for traffic from social media sites , or
from search engines via PPC, or with your time by spending
it on social media or SEO.

And NONE of those methods guarantees sales. You could spend
THOUSANDS of dollars and not make a single sale.

OR, you can just have affiliates promote your products using
their lists, their blog traffic, their social media, etc.

The best part is that you don’t pay one penny to affiliates
until they get a sale. That means if you don’t make money,
you don’t have to pay them money!

But you can’t be cheap.

You need to be VERY generous in order to attract quality
affiliates with big lists, big social media followings, etc.

And don’t think that offering 50% is enough, or that you
can have a long sales funnel and only offer a commission on
the initial sale.

If you want to attract the best affiliates with the most
traffic, you need to offer more. 50%, 75%, even 100%.

What???? 100%? Are you insane?

Yeah, I get it. Offering 100% commission seems like suicide,
but it’s not.

There are several ways to approach this.

You could offer 100% of sales on the main product, plus a
lower percentage of sales to the upsell products.

You could offer 60-75% of sales at all levels.

You could offer 100% of the initial product, plus the first
upsell, and a smaller percentage or no commission on the
final upsell, especially if it’s one-on-one coaching.

Either way, you need to be sure to compensate affiliates
fairly and give them the biggest piece of the pie you can
possibly manage.

Offering bonuses can boost sales, too. Just because those
affiliates can technically buy your bonuses easily themselves
doesn’t mean they won’t appreciate prizes.

Sometimes it’s not the prize that makes those affiliates
happy, it’s the status!

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s email. We’re going to talk about the
types of promo material you should be offering affiliates.

PS- Don’t think that you needn’t provide promo materials.
Many affiliates still use them!
