Title: Visitor to Lead Strategy

It doesn’t matter how much traffic you generate
to your blog if you don’t have a plan in place that
transforms that visitor into a qualified lead.

It’s the same when building your email campaigns. If
you simply collect email addresses without a plan in
place that’ll convert those emails into real-live buyers,
you’re wasting time and money.

So, how can you create an effective strategy that will
turn visitors into leads?

The easiest way is to have a second chance, and a third
chance to do so!

And you know where this is going: You need to create a
mailing list and stuff it full of qualified leads that you
communicate with on a regular basis.

No cold lists. No confusing emails from people who don’t
remember you or how they ended up on your list.

Instead, you will cultivate relationships with each and
every subscriber from day one. You won’t wait until you’ve
managed to garner 1,000 leads before you make contact. You
will nurture your list from the very first subscriber, even
if that’s cousin Betty in Canada. ;)

List building is important but list relationships are even
more important.

If you are lazy (like me), you can set most of the initial
relationship-building on autopilot and not have to worry about
it.

Start with a welcome email. This is typically a “who you are”
and “what you can do for them” email that thanks them for
becoming part of your world. Don’t thank them for joining
your list - in their mind that isn’t what they have done. They
have joined your INNER CIRCLE, gotten closer to someone who
can help them in some way so greet them and treat them as such.

Then, set up a sequence of emails that go out every week or so.
I recommend no more than once a week to start, but test out
different frequencies paying close attention to the number of
unsubscribes you get, as well as the open rates. Tweak accordingly.

With email marketing, it really is all about testing so you’ll
want to try out all kinds of different things in order to find
what works best for your market.

In the end, it’s all about communicating with an audience
while you have their attention and reminding them who you are
and what you have to offer.

People are finicky and they are quick to forget all about you.

Don’t let them.
