Title: Domains & Hosting For Membership Sites

Hello,

Once you have a niche selected for your membership site, it’s time to
get a domain name that relates to your niche, and hosting to upload all
of your files to.

A domain name is the address people type in to get to your website. It’s
kind of like your street address.

You’ll want to choose a domain that’s easy to type, easy to remember,
and isn’t too long. It should also relate to your niche so there’s no
confusion.

Don’t choose a domain like MariasWorld.com. Choose a domain like
MariasWeightLossTips.com. This might help slightly with SEO, but the main
reason you want to do this is to make it clear what your site is all
about. This makes marketing your site a lot easier, and it makes it
easier for people to remember if they want to go back to your site
later but forgot to bookmark it.

A domain name is only around ten bucks. Most people like to use:

They have coupons each month that give you a significant discount. Just
search Google for “NameCheap coupon month year” (as in: NameCheap Coupon
January 2018) and you’ll find their most current one.

Once you have a domain name, you’ll need some hosting to point it to.
There are lots of good hosting companies out there now, and most have
packages under ten bucks a month. You won’t get a whole lot of bells and
whistles at that price, but it will do for most websites, at least in
the beginning. You could move to dedicated hosting later without too
much hassle.

Some popular hosting companies include:

>> http://www.namecheap.com (yes, they offer hosting, too)

So around ten bucks for a domain name and ten bucks for your first
month of hosting, and you’re reading to start building your membership
site!

Not many businesses can help you get started so cheaply.

But a domain and hosting isn’t all you need. Tomorrow, we’re going to
talk about something else you need: software. You need software to
create the site, host the content, manage members and payment, deliver
content, and more.

We’ll take a look at the best options for this tomorrow.

Until then,

PS- Think setting up a membership site is too technical or difficult?
Tomorrow you’ll find out why it’s easier than you think!
