Today we’re going to take a look at an advanced technique
for list building that not a lot of people are using, but
those who are-—they are really killing it!

I’m talking about using social referrals.

Now, this can be as simple as just asking your friends on
Facebook to share a link to your squeeze page.

But what we’re really talking about is using something
such as locked content or contests to get people to 
share your content in order to enter your contest.

You can do this with a program like Rafflecopter, Gleam,
Shortstack, Wishpond, or any number of other similar
systems.

Most of them work the same way:

A user must perform an action such as entering their 
email, following you on social media, or sharing your 
contest on their own social media accounts. They
can get additional entries by performing multiple
actions.

You might ask why you don’t just offer entries to new
subscribers?

Well, then you’d miss the viral aspect of social sharing.

You want all of those people to share your contest on
various social media platforms in order to get MORE people
to subscribe.

These types of contests have huge potential, especially if 
you can get JV partners to share your contest initially, 
or if you promote the contest via other means such as 
paid advertising or your own social media.

And don’t forget to promote the contest to your CURRENT
email subscribers!

Just because they are already subscribers doesn’t mean
they can’t share your content with their friends, which 
will help you get even more subscribers!
