Protecting You Today from the Threat of Tomorrow! ADM 5.1 is now PQC Ready

ADM 5.1 is Now Live!
Enhanced ADM Account Password Rules
System admins can enable password rules, forcing users to set strong passwords and configure password expiration times for regular updates, reducing the risk of attacks. Users who forget their passwords must pass verification to reset them, further enhancing system account security.
Enhanced ADM Defender Firewall
Can block client IPs attempting to connect through EZ-Connect. ADM 5.1 also adds settings to block connections to Docker containers on the NAS, effectively reducing the risk of malicious attacks and strengthening data security.
Scan for Duplicate Files
Simply select a source folder to quickly scan for duplicate files. File deletion rules can be set based on scan results, easily removing duplicate files and utilizing NAS storage space more efficiently.
ADM 5.1 also fully adopts post-quantum cryptography (PQC). This means ADM 5.1 is now PQC Ready and designed to resist attacks from powerful quantum computers. When connecting to ADM 5.1 and subsequent versions using a browser supporting TLS 1.3 and PQC, no manual configuration is required; ADM will automatically enable a post-quantum encrypted connection, achieving seamless security upgrades and providing a highly protected encryption experience.
Product Support Status
Feature Support Notice
At ASUSTOR, our commitment to data security is first and foremost. To keep your data safe, we continuously update all aspects of our software. Updates prioritize information and data security first. This notice announces the end of partial feature support for affected NAS devices starting from ADM 5.0 due to the termination of vendor driver and/or software support.
  • Certain video formats will no longer be supported

Updated libraries in ADM are not compatible with the ffmpeg patches provided by Realtek. This affects NAS ASUSTOR NAS devices running Realtek CPUs. Which means hardware-accelerated transcoding will no longer be supported after upgrading to ADM 5.0. Only video formats natively supported by the browser will remain playable, while transcoding commonly used formats may not play properly.

  • USB IP printer support will be discontinued

Regrettably, components of the USB drivers in the following NAS models are incompatible with ADM 5.0. This means USB IP printer functionality, that is, connecting to a USB printer plugged into an ASUSTOR NAS through ASUSTOR Control Center, will no longer be supported in ADM 5.0. Only network printer functionality will be available.

Affected devices: Drivestor (AS1102T, AS1104T), Drivestor Pro (AS3302T, AS3304T)
