Make Effective Use of Idle Drive Bays with Drive Utilities
Don’t waste unused hard drive bays. Install Drive Utilities on your ASUSTOR NAS now to manage data on spare hard drives with these two core features:
1. Complete Data Cloning
o If you have two or more idle drive bays on your ASUSTOR NAS or expansion unit, you can fully copy all data from one hard drive or SSD to another hard drive or SSD of the same model and capacity or larger, ensuring complete data preservation or backup.
o Ensure there are at least two idle bays on the NAS.
o Insert a source hard drive or SSD into one of the idle bays.
o Insert target hard drives or SSDs into another idle bay. Multiple hard drives or SSDs can be inserted as targets, ensuring that the target drive capacities are greater than or equal to the source drive's capacity. |
2. Securely Deletion of Drive Data
o When a hard drive or SSD is no longer needed, an idle bay on an ASUSTOR NAS or expansion device can be used to securely remove data using Drive Utilities, helping to prevent unauthorized recovery or leakage of hard drive data.
o Ensure there is at least 1 idle bay on the NAS.
o Insert the hard drive or SSD to be securely removed into an idle bay. |

Certain versions of Docker Engine have a security vulnerability that could allow an attacker to bypass authorization plugins (AuthZ) under specific circumstances. The base likelihood of this being exploited is low.
CVE-2024-41110 will not affect ASUSTOR products with ADM 4.1 onward which the Docker Engine is installed, unless the users install AuthZ plugin and use it by themselves. Updates with new Docker Engine version will be released as soon as possible.
- Docker Engine v27.1.1.r1 has been updated on the App Central for ADM 4.1 and above to resolve the issues.

ASUSTOR’s AS5402T has again been selected as the Editor’s Choice by PCMAG. ASUSTOR this year has launched several highly acclaimed flagship NAS models that include but are not limited to the AS5402T. In a first for the industry, the AS5402T comes with four M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs to ensure maximum speed and capacity for that speed. With this in mind, the AS5402T naturally won the website’s recognition with its outstanding file transfer performance and powerful configuration. After achieving a record 4.5 stars, it’s no wonder the ASUSTOR AS5402T is the dual-slot king. ASUSTOR's commitment to constant self-challenge, ASUSTOR NAS is also the first NAS manufacturer in the industry to support 24TB NAS dedicated hard drives, meeting the needs of high-speed transmission and high-load storage environments ahead of time. |
