Read-only mode
Frequently read data will automatically be placed inside the cache drive. When accessing data, the cache will be read first to see if data is on it. If the data that is being read is not on the cache, then data will be read from installed hard drives. When the cache is full, older data is dumped.

Read-write mode
Read-write mode starts off as the same as read-only mode but also adds the ability to write directly to the cache. When copying to the NAS, data is copied directly to the SSD. Data that is in the SSD can be read back at SSD speeds. When copying to the cache, the oldest bits of data will be dumped if the SSD is full. |
