The Sacramento SPCA Training Center is here to help you have a lifelong, positive relationship with your pet. All classes are held at the Sacramento SPCA Training Center at 6201 Florin-Perkins Rd, Sacramento.
For your dog’s protection all dogs entering the training school must be fully vaccinated against rabies, distemper and parvovirus. Maintain balance while walking the dog on leash, even when the dog is pulling in the other direction. For individuals who do not meet these guidelines, you may opt for a private session so that we can focus exclusively on you and your dog. No refunds will be given for mandatory City or County of Sacramento or Sacramento SPCA training classes. More than a shelter, the Sacramento SPCA offers a variety of comprehensive services to help pets and the people who care for them, strengthening the human-animal bond every step of the way.
Becoming a member of the Sacramento SPCA is a great way to join the team of compassionate people dedicated to helping end the pet overpopulation crisis. The Sacramento SPCA invites you to support our animals by purchasing a commemorative brick. Through the generosity of Kuranda, their Donate a Bed program enables you to donate beds for dogs at the Sacramento SPCA at 30-35% off retail prices.

The Sacramento SPCA is looking for volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare and excited about furthering the mission of the Sacramento SPCA.
Our goal is to meet your needs and expectations while also utilizing your talents to meet the needs of the Sacramento SPCA.

General administrative assistance: Assemble Sacramento SPCA mass mailings, prepare educational packets, photocopy, return phone calls, and other tasks as needed. In order to get the maximum benefit from this class, participants should be able to handle the physical requirements and energy level of their dog. Choke chains and prong collars are not permitted on dogs entering the Sacramento SPCA Training Center.
Events include annual book sales in the spring and fall, as well as Doggy Dash and our annual gala events. Examples of duties include dog walking for seniors who are home-bound, cleaning of litter boxes, transporting pets to their veterinarian, or taking pets to grooming appointments.
