In 2013, Sean was personally hired by Cesar Millan (The “Dog Whisperer”) to teach and train students alongside Cesar for his highly-acclaimed seminar Training Cesar’s Way in Santa Clarita, California. Hi everybody, my name is Sean O’Shea, founder and owner of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation. From the simplest behavior problem to the most severe aggression, we have yet to find a dog we could not help.
The Good Dog Training And Rehabilitation is the premiere Los Angeles and New Orleans dog training service. I founded The Good Dog with one goal: Providing dog owners with the help, answers, and results they desperately needed, along with the care, compassion, and understanding they deserve.
I’m Laura, Sean’s right hand here at The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation, and I will most likely be friends with you by the time you walk in our door Before joining Team Good Dog in 2011, I found Sean when my own bad dog, Polar Bear, was at (beyond!) the point of needing professional help. I started my dog training career in 1977, attending the Moorpark College for Exotic Animal Training, and for the following 10 years I trained dogs and a myriad of other animals for film and television. If your dog does a board and train, Tony will be on the front lines with Sean while your dog is with us. The Good Dog is often the last stop for dog owners who have exhausted every other option and have still not found the help or results they need. We sincerely believe, and our results have consistently proven, that the dog you have today does not have to be the dog you have tomorrow. He was incredibly aggressive on-leash towards dogs on walks, barking, spinning, rearing up, lunging, and dangerously protective of his owners and house.

In this very special DVD series, Sean shares his unique approach to dog training in a clear, easy to follow, step-by-step fashion that takes the mystery and confusion out of creating a happy, healthy, and obedient dog. We are experts in fixing dog aggression, human aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, fear issues, anxiety issues, leash aggression, leash reactivity, pulling on leash, jumping on people, counter surfing, stealing food, chewing and destruction, barking problems, running away, not listening, growling, snapping, biting, door bolting, cat aggression, cat killing, and chasing game.
As someone who started many years ago with two dogs with serious issues, I know firsthand what it’s like to feel frustrated and hopeless.
After working with Sean and getting Polar Bear to a great place, I had fallen in love with training and started working for Sean. Our unique and highly-effective training approach consistently delivers results that surpass our clients’ expectations, creating the kind of happy and harmonious relationship that every dog owner dreams of. We also specialize in obedience training, which includes heeling on the walk, sit and stay, down and stay, place command, recall or come to owner. I was able to use my previous film industry experience and skills to help build the business side of TGD, and my knowledge of training difficult dogs to the advantage of all the dogs that come through the doors. I took a hiatus from dog training to raise my family and build a family business, and I met Sean when I was struggling to turn the corner with my dog-aggressive Rottweiler, Astro…and the rest is history!
Despite having read and watched as much dog training advice I could get my hands on, I was only able to make marginal progress with my dog’s extreme behaviors over the years.
We used our usual comprehensive approach of structure, rules, leadership, duration work, full e-collar program, clear rewards for good work and clear consequences for poor choices, and some counter-conditioning around triggers. Our behavior modification is revered nation wide, and we regularly receive client dogs from out of state from owners who have exhausted all other possibilities locally and still are struggling with their dog’s behavior.

I can’t wait to meet you and get you started on your own journey of an amazing relationship with your dog! Astro is awesome and balanced, and I have been working with Sean and The Good Dog crew ever since.
Our success rate with serious aggression issues and other major behavior problems is considered one of the best in the country, and many dog trainers will refer their more serious cases to us. Our mission and our commitment is to create amazingly balanced, well behaved dogs, and happy, highly satisfied owners.
They reached out to us in the hope we might be able to help them and Des to find a way to make him a dog that they could enjoy and include in their life, safely. If you would like to have a dog that comes to you every time you call them, sits when you ask, downs anywhere, and will go to place when guests arrive instead of jumping on them, without a leash and at any distance, we have the answers you’re looking for. I’ve been training with The Good Dog ever since and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved! The Good Dog Training And Rehabilitation services New Orleans and the greater Los Angeles San Fernando Valley area, the beach cities (Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu), Santa Clarita, Valencia, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Westlake, Simi Valley, and Thousand Oaks.
