At In Control Dog Training, we strive to make every training experience enjoyable & successful for you and your dog. Most of our classes are conducted in small group settings with only 5-6 people and their dogs*. Basic obedience includes skills such as sit, stay, focus, down, leave it, stand-up (great for vet visits & grooming), come when called and the lifesaving command…emergency STOP! Training does not end at basic obedience–there is always room for more learning and bonding with your dog! This FUN tricks class is a great way for you and your dog to bond and learn a trick or two! The Hybrid Obedience class is offered in conjunction with participation in a Basic Obedience or Intermediate Obedience Course. Basic and Advanced Obedience Package: This package is for those who really want their dog to be rock-stars! Advanced Lessons: Your dog must finish our Basic Obedience Package before we will teach them advanced lessons! Nationally acclaimed veteran Instructor, Jean Manino, has been providing Professional Dog Obedience Training for the New Orleans and surrounding areas since 1979. Doesn't use ineffective and inappropriate training aids: (harness, buckle collar, nylon or cotton leashes, gentle leader, Halti).
The Difference Between Our Training Method and Other Training Methods, is That Our Training Method Actually WORKS. Since treat trained dogs view their owner's wishes as "optional" they will NEVER be reliable.
In addition, using treats to train immediately tells the dog that you are a follower, thus putting the dog in charge.

In addtion to our DVD, "Dogs That  Don't Come When Called," JCM's is now offering our easy to read, easy to follow detailed and illustrated training instructions designed to help owners effectively correct and cure all unwanted behavior problems, and learn the basic commands, including off leash. We will go the extra mile to provide training programs that result in a happy, confident and obedient dog, as well as a happy, confident owner – relieved that your dog listens so well now.
Classes encourage stronger relationships and build a foundation for good canine citizenship to develop happy, social and well-rounded dogs. With the different levels and types of classes that we offer, there is sure to be a class that is the perfect fit for you and your dog!
Each session includes an extensive group training e-workbook for you to follow and use in the future, weekly personalized check-ins from your trainer and a fun graduation at the end of the course.  Each class is 1 hour in duration and is held one day per week for 5 or 6 consecutive weeks (depending on the course) at Central Bark New Orleans. In this course, your dog will learn these basic skills and more importantly, be able to perform them consistently and with distractions. Using positive reinforcement and games, your dog will learn how to walk on a loose leash without pulling you down the street! Click here to view our Training Calendar.
Life lessons include leash familiarization, guidance on potty training, destructive behavior… you know–puppy things!
Central Bark and SPCR are proud to present Intermediate Obedience class where you and your dog will freshen up on their basic skills by learning how to listen and perform those commands at an intermediate level: at a farther distance, for a longer duration, amidst even more distractions, and therefore laying the foundation for some off leash work.
This is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. Since treat trained dogs view their owner's wishes as "optional," they will NEVER be reliable. We are grateful for our many years of helping families with their dogs and can’t wait to help you bring out the best in your dog, too. This course is a comprehensive, informational head start program for pet parents that will give you the skills necessary to deal with any issues as they come up, whether they are in the home or at a dog park (this course includes a segment on dog park safety), all the while providing ample supervised playtime for the little ones.

You save $100.00 by paying for the Basic Obedience Package and 4 Advanced lessons up-front! The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.
Our programs are uniquely designed to train your dog quickly and teach you to be IN CONTROL in everyday life, everywhere. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a very nice certificate from the American Kennel Club. You are not alone!  This supplement course is designed to help you and your pup get the most out of our training classes. Not only does this hybrid course offer the socialization and distraction aspect of the group training classes, but you will also receive one-on-one time and individual attention from our trainer, including 2 extra weekend sessions tailored specifically to help you and your dog reach your training goals. You and your dog will work toward creating a better relationship while your dog learns to listen to you consistantly.
As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Whether your dog is ready to for the certification, or you want us to help get your dog ready for the certification, contact us!
