Processor Utilization

Processor Utilization is the percentage of time a core/processor is occupied compared against the total time the core/processor is available for use. For example, if the CPU is occupied for 45 seconds during a minute, its utilization for this period is 75%.

To determine this utilization figure the Agent polls the processors every five seconds and where the average for any processor the threshold over the Agent cycle (5 or 15 minutes) we generate an Alert.

The Dashboard displays the average and maximum utilization for each processor over the Agent cycle. Where a processor fails, we display this in the Check's clickable information line.

Thresholds

From Dashboard 2020.01.20 we updated the default threshold values for new Checks. Existing Check thresholds are unaffected.
