Accounts - Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1

E-Mail

The Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 Mobile Device Management Policy supports multiple e-mail accounts.

To enter an account click add_iconAdd, populate the required information then mdm_accounts_saveSave once complete.

The Description and Account Type of any entered accounts is displayed in the E-Mail dialog window.

Clickadd_icontoAdd another account or highlight an existing account to editEdit or mdm_accounts_deleteRemove.

Email Address

The e-mail address associated with the account

Account Type

IMAP4, POP3

Name

Name of the sender displayed in the email

Incoming Mail Settings

Mail Server and Port

The domain name or address and port used by the mail server

User Name

User Name associated with the account

Domain

Enter the domain name for the account

Authentication Type

The authentication type configured for the account: None (Prompt), Password

Where anything other than None is entered the additional Authentication: Password option is displayed.

Use SSL

Use an encrypted SSL connection to send mail to the mail server

Outgoing Mail Settings

Mail Server and Port

The domain name or address and port used by the mail server

User Name

User Name associated with the account

Domain

Enter the domain name for the account

Authentication Type

The authentication type configured for the account: None (Prompt), Password

Where anything other than None is entered the additional Authentication: Password option is displayed.

Use SSL

Use an encrypted SSL connection to send mail to the mail server

Sync Schedule

Sets the mail synchronization frequency for the device: Manual, Every 15 Minutes, Every 30 Minutes, Every 60 Minutes, Every 2 Hours

Past Days of Mail to Sync

The number of days the device will retrieve emails from: Unlimited, Up to One Week, Up to Two Weeks, Up to One Month

 

ActiveSync

The Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 Mobile Device Management Policy supports ActiveSync.

Click add_iconConfigure to add an ActiveSync account and where the account is no longer required click mdm_accounts_deleteRemove Configuration

Specifies the name that refers to the account on the phone.

Exchange ActiveSync Host

Host name or IP address of the ActiveSync server

Use SSL

Use an encrypted SSL connection to send mail to the Exchange server

Domain

Enter the domain name for the account

User

Can be specified as the fully qualified name or the name on its own. Any of the following tokens can be included:

E-Mail Address

Password

The password associated with the account.

If a password is not specified the device user will be prompted for their e-mail account password.

Sync Schedule

Sets the synchronization schedule: As Items are Received, Manual, Every 15 Minutes, Every 30 Minutes, Every Hour

Past Days of Mail to Sync

The number of days the device will retrieve emails from:Unlimited, Up to One Week, Up to Two Weeks, Up to One Month

Sync Email

Includes emails when synchronizing

Sync Contacts

Includes contacts when synchronizing

Sync Calendar

Includes calendar when synchronizing

Sync Tasks

Includes tasks when synchronizing

Logging

Enable ActiveSync logging on the device and set the level: Disabled, Basic Logging, Advanced Logging

Please note, the above information must precisely match the corresponding entries in Active Directory.

* Please be aware that where a specific user or email address is entered each device receiving the configuration profile will apply the same email account settings.
