Run Automated Task On Demand
From Windows Agent 8.5 and Mac Agent 2.3.0 we have included the option to manually Run Task from the Dashboard on one or more computers.
Single Device
Tasks Tab
- Highlight the device in the north pane
- Go to Tasks
- Right-click on the target Task (or from the Automated Task drop-down)
- Run Automated Task
- OK the Run Task message
Device Context Menu
- Right-click on the device in the north pane (or from the Server or Workstation drop-down)
- Task
- Run
- Next to confirm
- Run
- OK the Run Task message
Multiple Devices
Device Context Menu
- Multi-select the target devices in the north pane (use Shift and left-click to choose a range of devices or Control and left-click for specific machines)
- Right-click on one of the selection
- Select Tasks from the context menu (or Servers or Workstations drop-down)
- Run
- Select the Task
- Click Next
- Confirm the device selection
- Run
- OK the Run Task message
Client or Site
- Right-click on the target Client or Site under Monitoring and Management menu
- Select Tasks from the context menu (or Servers
- Run
- Filter tasks by Device type
- Servers
- Workstations
- Select the Task
- Click Next
- Confirm the device selection
- Run
- OK the Run Task message
You cannot use the Run Automated Task option for disabled Automated Tasks.

Automated Tasks with an expired schedule can also be triggered with the Run Task command. |
The Mac Agent runs Tasks in near realtime and uploads the results within a few minutes of the task completing.
The Run task action is queued on those devices that were offline when the command was issued. On these devices the Run task action is initiated when the device comes back online and reports back to the Dashboard to receive the command. Note, from Dashboard 6.13.3 Pending Tasks are now stored up to 31 days then (if not applied) removed.
