%1 IS NOT A VALID WIN32 Application
In a number of rare occasions the error message %1 Is Not a Valid Win32 Application may be displayed when the Advanced Monitoring Agent service attempts to start.
The following instructions have been adapted from
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812486
- Start Run
- Type regedit
- OK
- Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Advanced Monitoring Agent
- Double-click ImagePath
- Add quotation marks around the complete path of the executable file for the service, i.e. "C:\Program Files\Advanced Monitoring Agent\winagent.exe"
- OK
- Exit the Registry Editor
- Start the service
Where the problem also occurred with the Advanced Monitoring AutoUpdate, please follow the above steps to change the executable path for that service (if changing the Advanced Monitoring Agent path proved successful).
Warning: It is recommended that the registry is backed up prior to making any modifications as editing the registry can cause damage to the operating system.
Note: from Agent 6.9 the Agent and Auto Update services were combined as the Advanced Monitoring Agent service.
