ELD or AOBRD?

To be compliant with ELD (electronic logging device) regulations:

  • You must use Verizon Connect WorkPlan version 4.0 or later with Hours of Service version 3.2 or later.
  • Your vehicle must have the appropriate hardware unit installed and correctly configured.
  • You must have a valid Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection between your device and the hardware unit.
  • You must follow the guidelines in the ELD user guides below.

You automatically use AOBRD (automatic on-board reporting device) mode if your vehicle does not have the appropriate hardware unit installed. When in AOBRD mode, ensure you have GPS enabled, because GPS is used to record driving events.
