The ID Number is a number issued by some boards of election (including the State Board of Elections) that functions as a unique identifier to a committee to distinguish it from other committees – future, present or past – that have similar names.
Example of ID Number for state committee. STA-XXXXXX-C-001
It is neither an EIN (Employer Identification Number), nor a social security number.
The Committee ID number is generated when the committee’s organizational paperwork is processed by staff. Thus, newly organized committees will have no ID number to enter in the fields on CRO-2100C, CRO-1000, CRO-1100, etc.
Currently, the ID number is not the primary way staff refer to the committee or access its information.
