I made this yesterday and it was the best recipe of any low carb bread that I have ever made. I doubled it and used 1% milk instead of almond milk and used xlarge eggs instead of large and , this is my 2nd time and the bread rose a lot higher. Golden flax will give you a truer bread-like color, but the darker flax variety works just fine. It’s definitely not a squishy or stiff bread dough like wheat based bread dough, and it is a little bit wet, but it should form a nice ball.
As with all Paleo baking recipes, it’s fairly important to stick to the original recipe when it comes to any binding ingredient or flour, but if you try it let us know how it turns out.

I have been asked many times if I had a Paleo bread recipe and until now I had only developed sweet breads like Chocolate Zucchini Bread or a couple of versions of Banana Bread or Marble Bread.Paleo, Gluten and Grain Free Sandwich BreadI am excited about this recipe for Paleo Sandwich Bread because even though it is completely grain and gluten free, it tastes amazing and the consistency is moist and soft just like the sandwich breads we were used to before changing our diet. The flax meal gives the bread a somewhat chewy texture while the arrowroot starch helps hold it together.
It’s exactly what I was looking for to replace the regular french bread in my eggnog french toast! Unfortunately, this recipe is entirely based around using coconut flour, and as paleo breads are quite difficult to figure out, you wouldn’t really be able to just sub different flours as they have very different properties and you would need different ratios of all ingredients.
I would switch to ghee or virgin olive oil or macadamia oil from walnut oil if you want to reduce the amount of Omega-6 fatty acids. Check out the recipe here. I hadn’t honestly thought of that before, but in the end I decided there wasn’t anything at all wrong with using yeast in bread on a Paleo diet! I have one other bread recipe that works great but was hoping for a good recipe that included yeast.
In my opinion though, there is also a tiny hint of sweetness to it and this is due to the almond flour being sweeter than grain wheat flour.I cut the bread into thin slices and it is great toasted. Sandwich breads and wraps are great for a quick and convenient lunch and they make the transition into paleo much easier but just remember not to rely on them as your staple. It’s in the oven now and so far hasn’t risen at all Fingers crossed it turns out decent- thanks for the recipe! I told him I had made the bread with almond flour instead of wheat and he was thrilled.If you are like me, you will cover the bread in a good raw gouda cheese, but go ahead and smother it with butter, olive oil, jams, or anything you like.

I’ve been doing the Paleo diet now for just over a month and the only thing I have been craving is a sandwich. There are many people that follow the paleo diet and also consume dairy products for their high fat and nutrient content.
